There's new people running and organizing it, and the term "hellfest" doesn't imply ANYTHING. Because if you went by that formula "Warped Tour" would be an electronic/experimental tour.

horse the band, between the buried and me are already confirmed, both those bands are heavy, i personally couldnt care less if it is a hardcore/metal festival that scene has gone completely down the gutter. i hope it is a good mix of bands, to me a show with half pop-punk or "softer" bands and half "heavy" bands would be awesome

I honestly wouldn't expect Hellfest to be any different than a S&S/Bamboozle/Warped Tour show. It will naturally contain a mix of harder bands, just like an of those three shows would, but it won't be hardcore or metal based.

its not even just the music...but imagine hellfest last year...with the scene we have now, out in CA anyway...good god they wouldnt call it hellfest because of the heavy music, they would call it hellfest because it would in fact be hell on earth, for all the wrong reasons.

I know its a "let's make as much money as we can" fest. This is very disappointing, I don't listen to much metal or hardcore but I know they deserved to have this fest dedicated to them. Can anyone say "bamboozle ripoff?".

Bamboozle ripoff? Bamboozle has only been around one year. Also, Bamboozle was a Skate & Surf ripoff... purposely.

I dont see what the big deal is. I know many metal and hardcore fans that listen to many types of music. Also, There are 175 bands this year.. 70 more than usual. If 70 of the bands aren't hardcore or metal, it's still the same amount of hardcore/metal bands as last year.

If you want to whine.. whine from home while everyone else has a good time at the fest.

bamboozle wasnt necessarily a skate and surf rip off. one of the main people behind S&S left S&S because his contract was up, and so he started his own festival...

while i am disappointed that hellfest switched management, and they are catering to other crowds, i think i still may go. i mean, there are what, 160 bands going to be there or something like that? there has to be a lineup every day that i will enjoy going to. although i could save money and just go to the sounds of underground tour.

whatever the case. this festival will not be as good as it was when it was in SYRACUSE. GO BACK TO SYRACUSE!
