View Full Version : What are some good "thrash metal/gutterpunk " hardcore type bands?

I've been looking for some good thrasher type rock but with someone who can actually sing well and doesn't scream throughout the entirety of their songs. Also some fast songs with good base lines. Any suggestions?

It's all the same stuff.

Around here people call it "gutter punk" or "thrasher metal" but it's all the same. So whatever you wanna call it.

Metallica - Kill'em All

Hetfield doesnt scream but he doesn't exactly sing either. But it's one of my favorite thrash records ever.

Blind Guardian
Demons & Wizards (formed by members of Iced Earth & Blind Guardian)

im stil lnot sure if this is the kind of stuff you're looking for though. :|

You want Thrash Metal? Kreator, old Sepultura, Celtic Frost, Megadeth, Nuclear Assault, Coroner, etc.

Both bands sound too mellow by themselves but that just may have been the songs I found. I like all the Dragons & Wizard songs I've found so far.

Thanks Everyone. I like most of what I've heard so far but I'm still looking for something a little different. I'm looking for songs that sound kinda like mudvayne-dig,skrying, or reggie and the full effect-the fuck stops here,raining blood(slayer cover) or motograder-suffocate....Also stuff like the unseen, but better. Or just stuff that makes you wanna punch somebody in the face and sing along to the song.

You can do a genre search there and just explore. You'll find everything you want.

I'm not trying to sound elitist but anybody who recommends Metallica as good Thrash are fucked. They're fucking sell-outs who stole most of the material from their first album from Dave Mustaine!

GOOD OLD THRASH: Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Slayer (stick with their 80's material), Dark Angel, Death Angel, Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Tankard, Toxik, Violator... fuck too many to name!

GOOD NEW THRASH: Municipal Waste, Warbringer, Gama Bomb, Evile, and plenty of underground acts. Cross Examination are one im particularily into, not very well known look em up on YouTube
