I got this idea from another forum

There is this forum called Digital Dream Door. And on that forum they have lists of bands/guitarists/vocalists/drummers/bassists/rapper etc. These lists are top 100 lists and they have a list for each genre. Anyways i think that we should do something like this. Have a top hmmm 50 (or some other number) list of bands for each genre. There could also be a section of the site where we talk about the lists what should be changed. What spots certain bands should be in. What bands should move up or down the lists and what other bands who arent on it deserve to be. We could have a list of bands for genres such as indie, punk, hardcore, emo, alternative, rock, hip hop etc. It worked on Digital Dream Door....maybe it could work here.

We should do something like a bracket. That'd be more exciting. Like make someone like Green Day a #1 seed and some band not as known a 10 seed. It would be based on populairty. Something like that.

Yeah I'd be interested in that. It'd be cool to see AP.net's favorite band.

thats true. This is gong to be really difficult to do. Maybe some of the prestigious members (allowed in the members only forum) or maybe a select few could organize lists for the different catagories and everyone would have to just deal with it. At least until they convinced the ones in charge of the list to have the bands they want added.

all of those are good...except alternative. if you want to be technical about it, everything that isn't just straight rock is alternative....indie rock, punk rock, progressive rock....

i think it would because all of my favorite bands are not the most skilled... and when you think about it not all of peoples favorite bands are based on popularity.. like one of my favorite bands is forever in motion and i bet a total of 10 people know about them on this site
