Looking for cool LA bands

I've been seeing a few shows at the Good Hurt, Troubadour and Knitting Factory, but I'm looking for cool, local LA bands to see. Preferably punk or something with anger. Any ideas?

High School Logic is from Hollywood. Army of Freshmen is from Ventura, and Chris Jay is a pretty cool guy, too. The show aren't too shabby. The Return is local [somewhere] too. I didn't really like them live when I saw them, but they were stoned out of their minds.. =|

Nothing Special

the Manatee Band

Tomorrow and Forever

I saw You, Me and Iowa at the LA Music Showcase, Nothing Special and the Manatee Band at hte Roxy and they're playing again with Tomorrow and Forever at the Whiskey. They were all good, but I wanted to know if they have a big following or what.

ahhh how i love you....ya my band cynic with a gun is playing with some good local/signed bands this wednesday june 15th at the whisky...signed bands include on broken wings, from a 2nd story window, reflux, and ion dissonance, the rest of the show is local bands, brethren, confide, and my band cynic with a gun...you should check it out ;)
