So I have some SAT prep software from Kaplan. The thing is that it's for the old SAT... I need to find out what are the major differences between the new and old SAT (besides the writing and the lack of analogies). And how much will it affect me if I only review based on the old SAT?

It will not change anything for you since SAT prep classes are a waste of time anyway.

You can't really study for the SAT's. There is no way you can learn a lifetime of grammar rules in the timespan of a few weeks.

wow, that's gotta suck -- but ummm, i don't know .. i mean, a lot of it is kinda just "on the spot." there's no way you can study the exact questions or scenarios that are going to be on the test sooo .. study all you want and good luck, but that dude's right when he said that studying doesn't help.

I took a prep course (actually my gf still has all my prep books...wtf)...Kaplan is pretty useless but using their books and study guides helps. For the English/Writing sections...your best bet is to just read books like crazy...I mean a friend of mine (who got a 1550)...he just reads books all the time...leisurely...for the math section...know the tricks really...it's a battle against time...you gotta be able to "see" the shortest route before anyone else..every second counts too. Good luck.
