I just came back from a summer trip to school to hand in some essay drafts and talk with my CAS advisor and stuff and I was just wondering if anyone else here is doing the IB and do you think it's easy? hard? and do you like TOK? Because everyone seems to hate it but I love that class. Actually I love being in IB.
I just finished IB1, so one more year of this for me, though of course I'm going to be doing some work over the summer because I'm way behind on all my externals.. :headshake

I finished the IB 2 years ago now. Personally TOK was the best class i took...it really depends on the teacher you get and the carriculum of that specific year.
If you study, and keep at it you'll do really well, and easily. If your more of a slacker, you can still pass easily, but not get the best grade in the end out of 45.

its hard for me to judge it if its good or bad, i hated it on a whole. but thats because my school didnt offer as many classes as other schools do/might, and it was geared towards math/science and less arts/humanities which i was definately more a part of. :)

I like Tok... and yeah, I like it at my school, but it's messed up because I'm first generation and we didn't get much choices... we all are taking the same subjects at the same levels, which is kind of strange... for example, they gave us english B to balance out those who speak really well and those who barely can speak it. I find this subject extremely easy and have been getting 6's and 7's on it all the time, while some of my friends can't make it past 2's and 3's... I think this is unfair, though meh... grade boundaries come to me.
I used to be a real slacker. IB changed me, how terrible.

Hey, PeeDster, how did you do? and were you able to apply for universities using IB even if your subjects weren't mostly in your areas of interest?

Oh man, I love the holidays. It's great to sleep normal-person-hours.

I agree... its a LOT of hard work, no matter what subs you decided to take... Although people say some subs are more hellish than others. It seems that the general opinion is that IB (and high school in general) is probably the most stressful point "schoolwise" since you're taking subs you dont always care about and that have nothing to do with what you want to do later..

TOK just depends on your teacher, and how much they hate it... Mine is so bored with the lesson and the students that everyone's come to hate TOK.

i did IB for middle school, and opted out for high school. a lot of my friends still do it though, and they constantly complain about how their workload is so hard or whatever. i jsut atke honors and AP classes at the other high school, it basically ends up evening out. IB looks hella good for college though. but so do AP classes and crew, so i'm hoping im safe.
