I'm a high school student who's graduating(although I think I am technically graduated) and am going to Columbia in Chicago for Journalism/Music this Spring. The Semester starts in less than a month and I've been accepted and all that jazz but I kind of have one problem. My means to pay for school kind of fell through at the last minute and now I've been scrambling to figure out everything to do. I just filled out the FAFSA and had a lot of talks with my PSEO and high school guidance counselors. They are completely useless and of no help.
At this point to pay for my 10k tuition+house for the spring semester I don't know what to do. Is there anything more to do than FAFSA? Any feedback/recommendations/help would be greaty appreciated.

Scholarships, try www.fastweb.com (http://www.fastweb.com)

I know it's a pain in the ass to look for scholarships, and then teacher rec's and all that stuff, but once you get the money, it'll be worth it. Graduating with debt, although sometimes necessary, sucks, so try to get as much grant/scholarship money as you can get. [I wish someone told me this earlier]

Awesome. Thanks. I already have found some other scholarships and all that stuff. What about the actual loans themselves though? Like I figure STudent Aid and scholarships won't do everything I need to pay for my tuition
