Anyone else excited for this season? Who do you think is going to take home the NC?

I'm picking Virginia Tech. But as long as Notre Dame wins more than 8 games I'll be happy.

Have faith my brother. Charlie Weis is a god send. I don't know how good they'll be THIS year, but they certainly will be better than last year.

Pitt > Notre Dame
Pitt should of never been in the BCS game. Thats what I dont like about the system.

I know, but they're still better than ND. Tyler Palko 5 TD passes jigga what?

06/12/05, 03:54 PM
Well ND has some major issues with their football program. I dont think Weis will be able to bring that club back to form in the next two years and I see ND gettin inpatient again.

I cant stand pitt. I dont like their basketball team, which makes me hate the whole athletic department. That, and BC totally blew their chance to get to the BCS game and Pitt won the big east with 3 (i think) freakin loss’.

ND needs to stop playing all the big time teams. I know they make a lot of money doing that, with their NBC contract. But they can't compete with a USC.

Pitt beat BC. Simple as that.

Ya, but BC lost the Syracuse game that would of won them the BIg East. Now their playing in the freakin ACC and have to play Florida st, Miami, and Virgina Tech. Not to mention their going to get beat up in Basketball.

Hey, they should have beat Syracuse then. Either way, Utah would have won that crappy game.

I honestly think USC is going to repeat, and Leinart is going to have one of the best seasons in college football history.

Pitt's going to get fucked up this year. I'd bet you money on that.

They're watering down the schedule starting 2009. It won't matter much though considering all of Notre Dame's oldest rivals are the big time teams. USC, Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State, they're picking up Penn State again too.

Within 5 years, Notre Dame will have equal talent as the USC team had two seasons ago. 85% of Notre Dame's "Major Issues" have been fixed as soon as they signed Charlie Weis as their head coach. There wasn't a defensive coordinator in the NFL that could stop him and there surely isn't a DC in college football that's going to. Plus he has 4 Superbowl rings to flash at recruits. If you were a recruit wouldn't that be more appealing to you than USC flashing around their NC rings? 4 Superbowl Rings attached with a team that has more National Championships, All-Americans, and Heisman winners than any other team in college football? Weis is going to just fine.

Nobody knows what talent Notre Dame has had since 1993 because they haven't had a good coach since then. I gurantee you they have more talent there now than people think.

By the way, the superbowl rings are already working.

He has 7 verbal commits and 4 of them were snatched away from schools like USC, Michigan, Miami, and Penn State.

Notre Dame will be fine.

Look out for Miami... Finally got Brock Berlin out of there, replaced by Kyle Wright, Gatorade highschool player of ther year in 2003 (thats for ALL sports, not just football)... expecting to have a huge year...

Are you kidding? Who would rather go to Notre Dame? USC actually has a shot at winning a national championship in the next four years, while ND is many, many years from getting back to that level. USC is more appealing for many reasons. It's in sunny southern California. The coaches are fun and pretty laid-back. Snoop Dogg comes and raps. USC is a college football players dream right now.

Please, college football players play college football at a D1-A level to get to the NFL. College players want coaches that know how to prepare them for the NFL and know how to help them be successful. With the mind of a genius and all the contacts he has, Weis can offer them that. Not many college coaches can. You're shitting yourself if you think a kid would pick a school based on the chance to win a national championship over a chance to have a great draft pick when school is over and have an oppertunity to eventually win a superbowl ring. Don't get me wrong, there are still going to be top notch blue chip athletes that have no interest in Notre Dame. But they have already commited 7 prospects that are all in the top 100 of 2006 class(One whom USC was courting). All without Weis coaching a single game. This is going to be the best recruiting class they've had in years. And next year will only improve.

I'm not saying Notre Dame will WIN a NC in 4 years.... but you're foolish if you think they won't be a serious contender for one.

If you're in the spotlight, like USC constantly is, you have a better chance of being drafted. And let's not forget that Pete Carroll was an NFL head coach...

1. If you're good, you'll be found. Regardless of your school.

2. Everywhere Weis goes, the media follows. No matter what Notre Dames record will be this year, they're going to be in the spotlight all year.

3. Let's not forget that Pete Carroll failed big time in the NFL.

Notre Dame isn't a bad place to be scouted....but USC is better. Yeah, Carroll sucked it up in the NFL, but he still knows how the system works.
