I've been creating a lot of music lately for my band (Kinstone: www.myspace.com/thekinstone), and i'm listening to a lot of bands to see how they create moods for songs through both their lyrics and music. As a songwriter, I have been developing my own techniques on song subjects and vocal rhythms, but i want to learn more about how musicians create vivid emotion through their dynamics and chord structures. I'm not asking for real technical bands to observe, but more simple minded such as Copeland and Manchester Orchestra.

can anybody help me out with some recommendations?
and perhaps give me some feedback on my own band's music?
both would be very helpful.

as far as good vibes go...you can't go wrong with 311. the lyrics, and just the music itself...all about positivity!
