Sucks for you.
Dude, I think that's something labels are starting to do now...the same thing happened to me when I tried to rip the new DMB cd.

If that is the record labels new plan, it's going to be counterproductive, I think. How many people put most of their music on an mp3 player? If they can't get the CD onto their computer, they're going to download it from someone who managed to do it. If they're going through all that trouble anyway, why buy the CD?

Yeah. I'm really fucking pissed off about it right now. I've tried via their way of ripping, using iTunes, and using windows media player, and NONE of them ripped it without making the cd sound like shit. And the cd sounds perfect in my car, so there's nothing wrong with the cd itself. This is fucking bullshit.

Exactly. People will just get it from somewhere else. I buy my CDs to show my appreciation for the bands and to actually be able to own the CD. I hardly listen to them since they are already on my PC. In fact, the only time I use my CDs is to wake me up in the morning

tells you ways to get around it .. one way may be just to hold the shift key when sticking the cd in .. this will disable the auto play

That is such a suckfest. If the band is good, they can make money on shows and other merch anyway.
