Couldn't find a thread for this movie even though it came out on Friday. Anyways. It was a great movie. Jim Carry at his best and Zooey Deschanel is adorable in it. Really funny movie. The Jumper scene was great. Anyone else seen it yet?

I like how you can create an opinion on something you've never seen.
There was a scene where he stopped a guy from committing suicide by playing Jumper and everyone started singing along that was awesome. I would watch this movie again just for this scene. Really funny and good movie despite what the people who haven't seen it and won't give it a chance say.

If this movie went like this, I would enjoy it.
At the end of Yes Man Jim Carrey’s character is told to kill himself sort of like a dare, but the person that tells him doesn’t know he is saying “Yes” to everything so when Jim steps in front of a bus and dies it is really shocking but also really funny. I mean, the whole movie is funny because he says yes to everything, even like drinking a bunch of Red Bull, which is really funny because he talks really fast just like when people drink a lot of Red Bull. He also does a bunch of things like guitar lessons and stuff.
But when he says yes to killing himself and you think the movie is over you have to wait until after the credits because there is still like 10 minutes of the movie as well as a trailer for Magneto and a special appearance by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, which was like OMG kewl.
So anyway, in the scene after the credits Jim Carrey goes to heaven and he’s like tripping and stumbling and EVERYONE is laughing because tripping and stumbling is HI-LARIOUS and he meets God, which is played by… you guessed it! Morgan Freeman!!!!!! So God asks him to do something (i can’t remember what it was) and he waits for a minute and everyone thinks he’s gonna say yes, but he yells, “NO!!!!” God hits a button and Jim drops down a long dark tunnel and lands in this really dark chamber and you see the Devil! The Devil then asks him to do something and he again yells, “NO!!!!” but this time the Devil doesn’t do the button/tube thing… instead he says, “You must go back to Earth and bring about terror and destruction in my name!” He doesn’t give him a chance to say no or yes or anything and just *poof* he’s on Earth. He lands in a diner and you can hear a TV broadcast in the background and you are never gonna believe this… but it’s Evan Baxter from Bruce Almighty! Then it goes black and the Wonder Woman trailer plays and everyone almost peed themselves because of who is playing Wonder Woman… she is sooooo hot and stuff.
Anyway, then they talked about what Yes Man 2 is gonna be about and they said it’s gonna be Carl Allen (Jim Carrey in Yes Man) terrorizing Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey from Bruce Almighty) in a religious battle where Jim will play both characters. It’s gonna be awesome. I told them they should get Steven Spielberg to direct it because that would be awesome.

i saw this on friday. it was just ok. there were some funny moments, but nothing that made me laugh out loud, and that is the measure of a good comedy. the "lesson" in the story is overshadowed by the (mostly) lackluster performances. however, getting to see zooey deschanel makes up for all of it. god she's hot.

Carrey hasn't made a good comedy in almost a decade. He and Sandler are the same actors now. They're actually good enough actors to take on serious roles yet they still throw in too many sloppy comedies. They're too old to be doing movies like this.

Did anyone see that Comedy Central look into Yes Man? Jim Carrey was interviewed the whole time, and god was he ever annoying. The interviewer couldn't get one question in without him trying to make a stupid joke or pun that no one laughed at, he was mostly laughing at his own jokes. Really painful to watch.

adj.
1. Of or concerning homosexual love and desire.

No, it definitely was amusing and I have nothing wrong with him defending himself but there isn't a reason to say something along the lines of him not caring what people say AND THEN defending himself. And not just Geoff in particular, anyone that does something like that. If you don't care then you don't care. Maybe I'm jaded, but I just think that is pretty contradictory.yea, that's true.

For the record i like the dude i made fun in the thursday thread and his bands but thats a moot point. As for everyone dick riding the guy from thursday after that post is whatever. Im indifferent on it. Thread sucks and the music discussed in it all sucks. Want to read a funny thread find the rotten tomatoes one haha.
Doesnt the new thursday album art have people in white hoods on it? Arent they on taste of chaos tour now? I think there was little truth to my stupid outlandish comments how he goes from underground skrams elitist to mainstream wannabe so. Its conflicting ideals and morals in my opinion. Like someone saying they like both avenged sevenfold and reversal of mans music. That just doesnt happen or make sense
Talib Scottie

Oh I wasn't discrediting your opinions or saying they were false by calling them outlandish, just that they are extreme, haha.
i find it amusing, especially when half-witt kids come out of the wookwork and get all worked up.
My assumptions were based on references i used from things like his interview on mtv's website. I only questioned what i saw in the source so. It just seemed silly when he tried to pigeonhole me like i act like i know insider info about his bands or i make it up which was a funny defense in my opinion. Oh well. I could argue about it until im blue in the face but thats why i didnt even bother to quote him.
