can you think of a specific example in a song that uses this? It would probably make it a lot easier for people to help you out if they could listen to exactly what you're talking about

just keep practicing bends and how you strike the string.

Pinch Harmonics are one of the hardest techniques to master, but it's worth the effort. The "chugga chugga" sound is basically just really fast palm mute on the lower strings, pretty much just a tremolo pick.

A lot of people do pinch harmonics differently but this is how I do it. To learn I'd recommend you use thin picks and then use medium later.

First, hold you pick very close to the tip so that you can easily use your thumb to strike the string. Fret the string normally, like just keep your finger on a fret like you would any other time. The best place to start with is on the "G" string on the 7th fret. Pick the string, but instead of just leaving it at that, a split second later hit the string with your thumb. Getting the right pitch is extremely important to the pinch harmonics, so you have to keep picking the string in different places between the pick-ups. To get the wailing sound, try to do vibrato or bend the string as soon as you get the harmonic. This takes a lot of practice so don't get frustrated the first few times. The best way is just not to think about what you're doing and just go through the motions.

I admit I'm not an expert at pinch harmonics but I get the squeal consistently and this is how I do it. Hope this was helpful.

you have to get used to playing entire songs holding the pick in the same position you would for a pinch harmonic. it takes practice.
