Download Punk Donates 1% of all revenue to Charity Labels and fans are invited to do the same

Digital music site <http://www.downloadpunk.com/> has unveiled its newest philanthropic endeavor. As of today, one percent of all revenue will be donated to a select group of deserving charities.

In addition to the donations made by Downloadpunk.com, all of the over 300 labels featured have the option of donating 1% of their sales to charity (current list below). Fans also can participate by donating 1% of their purchase price to their choice of featured charities.

DownloadPunk.com aims to have an impact that goes well beyond music. Independent music is just a small part of a larger community that needs to be served through awareness, activism, and social responsibility.

Downloadpunk.com offers a wide and growing selection of legal downloads ranging from Street Punk and Metalcore to Indie Rock and Emo. All downloads are in MP3 and WMA format allowing play on an iPOD, WMA player, any MP3 player, as well as being burnable to a CD. Donating to charity should be a very personal thing, there are plenty of people and companies thet do it that you dont hear about but DLP, Hopless/Subcity seem to make the habit of bragging about it for publicity.
