New featured band (right side) for Funeral for a Friend (http://www.ffafmusic.com). The band's new album just hit stores - so go pick it up. Motion City Soundtrack didn't sell nearly enough copies of their great album last week - so they're staying up there until all of you bastards that downloaded their album early go buy it!

Hey Jason, what do you think of the new albums of 2005 so far? Whats your top 10 roughly.......I'm bored.

New FFAF is so boring. Well, the first three tracks, anyway. I didn't bother going past them. I enjoy a few of the tracks from that Seven... comp EP Ferret put out in 2003 too, so this is marginally disappointing.

But to keep this thread positive, I got the new City On Film (Bob Nanna of Braid / Hey Mercedes) in the mail too today, and the first 6 tracks are pretty good. Most of the tracks are pretty downbeat, but it's a neat, more singer/songwriter take on the general sound he's relied on for a decade.

You tell 'em Jason. I have a couple of friends that downloaded the album and haven't bought it yet because they've already had their fill of it for now. Sigh...why'd it have to leak so early.

true .. but, i needed to pick one of them to go..

New FFAF is so boring

Boring? That's interesting .. I wouldn't of called it boring .. the guitar riffs alone keep me interested. I'd rather have the mellower versions showcasing the vocals than over-powering growls and screams. I'm sick of screamo .. o well.

The cd cover for MXPX is still up.

Whats your top 10 roughly.......I'm bored.

1) the spill canvas - one fell swoop
2) a wilhelm scream - ruiner
3) minus the bear - menos el oso
4) jacks mannequin - everything in transit
5) days away - mapping an invisible world
6) copeland - in motion
7) academy is - almost here
8) armor for sleep - what to do when you are dead
9) acceptance - phantoms
10) emanuel - soundtrack

this is rough .. just me sort of putting things in order .. it will change dramatically by the end of the year i am sure .. i'm just tossing things in some some sort of order .. others that will hit the list: TSL, FOB, MCS, Eisley, foo fighters, gatsbys american dream, gratitude, gym class heroes, hit the lights, jamisonparker, limbeck, mxpx, over it, treos, terminal, rufio, as i lay dying, throwdown, saves the day, (self against city and cartel and thrice - if their new cds come out this year), sherwood, spitalfield, steel train, and yovee ..

Heh. I like music. my tastes have slowed down this year though ... more lighter/classic/thought out sounds ...

OH Goodness, hes heard Jack's Mannequin!!!

I wish you'd break your "no leak" rule just this once.....

PS If you would, try and get the braclet ordering ready soon! Everytime I come to the site, or go back to the main page, I try to click the link, just hoping I'll be able to order one. Don't mean to rush you, I know youre doing the best you can

yah, the version I have is an unmastered rough mix of the album - but it's really a good disc, very pop-oriented, similar to soco .. but I think the solo effort reminds me of a young elton john/billy joel instead, such a talented pop musician - exactly what i like in my music .. lyrical example: "my life's a stupid pop song, and everyone's singing along .."

it always takes at least 24 hours for the new image to go up

why don't people who are interested or even marginally interested in the band plop down 10-12 dollars on the disc and actually support a band that they claim to listen to. I know the age of AP.net users varies greaty but c'mon is it so much to go down to a best buy or tower and say hey this band I like is releasing a new CD this tuesday I'll go and buy it sheeeesh

This helped me realize how many great albums have come out already this year... because I'm sitting here thinking "those albums (the ones i've heard) are all great, but what about this and this and this etc." top tens this year are going to be very very difficult by the year's end. But, I love that Emanuel made that list, their album is very kickass.

I think yours fits closest to what I've liked the best. Theres too much and it would be too hard to make mine, but it would definitely have TREOS and GAD at the top. Circa would be up there too.
