I've only recentely set up my home studio and i've spent the better part of the last month playing with drum mics. So for any of you that record drums what kind of mic set ups do you use and what kind of room do you usually record in?

Any tips would be chur.

2-3 sm57's on the snare (2 on top skin, one underneath), an atm 25 on the rim of each tom, hi hats i use a 57 pointing directly down on the edge of that hats, overheads to oktava shotgun mics \ / sort of like that over the kit, kick drum i use akg d112 right in the centre of the drum and a atm23 just outside the whole. also with your overheads.. if you find your mics arent getting enough ride or whatever, you can mike that with a sm57also...

I don't know too much about the equipment I've used in the past, but it's usually two mics set up overlooking the kit, and one mic each for the hi-hats, toms, and bass drum. sorry that doesn't help much
