Does anyone make guitars that look like the Rickenbacker mike is playing in this video? I want a guitar that looks like it, but I can't afford an actual Rickenbacker.

Also, can someone tell me what Conor is playing?

Rickenbacker holds the trademark for all of their body designs and they really enforce that on anyone who tries making copies. Back in the 70's brands like Ibanez were making blatant copies of a lot of different designs. Ric's designs were one of them and since the lawsuit there really hasn't been any, and if there were they were shut down pretty quickly.

So, basically, if you want a Ric, you have to pay the ridiculous prices. =/

There was a rickenbacker copy listed on the Cleveland craigslist today: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/msg/972181540.html

And there's a good looking one at a nice price down in memphis: http://memphis.craigslist.org/msg/960734444.html

There's a couple others on the west coast, but nothing with pictures or anything. If you want a Ric copy, you'll just have to keep an eye out and pickup something used... or build one yourself.

Agile guitars makes something that looks sort of like a Rickenbacker.

I've heard those guitars aren't too bad for the price (even heard they're on par with MIM Fenders from certain sources), but I've never tried one myself.

I think this will be my next guitar, after a Jazzmaster.

Looks like Conor is playing an old Japanese guitar of sorts in that video. Probably a Teisco or something similar.

I love their basses, but I'm so used to the narrow Jazz bass neck. Even a P-bass feels awkward to me.

Ah I know. I casually play bass, and if I could get any bass, it would totally be a Rickenbacker.
