hahaha no it actually wasn't, but that's pretty funny that you would assume that it's me based on my avatar.

anyways, you have to give FOT a LOT of credit because they are just as good, if not better than TMV. You can't really compare two bands when one of them has founding members of a band that changed musical history. All I'm saying is that Thomas Erak is a much better guitar player than Omar Rodriguez, and although Thom does use some effects once in a while, he doesn't rely on them like Omar does.

Omar has been the brains behind 5 solid and incredibley inspirational full legnths. The Fall Of Troy barely has anything released. I don't see a contest.

Fall Of Troy are an amazing, amazing band. I was ecstatic when they got signed, especially to a label like Equal Vision.

About the whole Mars Volta/ Fall Of Troy thing. I love both bands. Two of my absolute favorites. But i must say that Thomas Erak has mad chops and is as good as/ most likely better than Omar.

Until he has a number of highly respected albums under his belt, that's not true. Part of being a good guitarist is being able to create music that is appreciated by a wide audience.

That's true. Omar is definitely more influential. I mean he influenced Thomas Erak. You can say which guitarist has better technique though. And I'm saying Erak.
