Going through one right now and it's terrifying. Her boobs are hurting for some reason and she's been feeling dizzy constantly. Right now I'm just praying she makes her period. I've been a nervous wreck for the last few days.
Anyone else had to deal with this?

me neither. it's all good until she has "the talk" with you. then you're fucked and it's too late. if you use a condom and then it breaks, then you can just get plan b within 72 hours(like someone mentioned before). the shitty thing is some girls use plan b as birth control which is a REALLY bad idea. it could cause permanent damage to your walls and you could not have kids later on in life.

Yeah we discussed how the boob pain could be because of PMS, and also she just went back on birth control after being off it for a few months, so I'm hoping that's the main problem.

dude. wait til she is "supposed to have it" and if she doesnt have it by then, go get a test. my ex was like 100lbs and because she was so tiny, her period was sporadic. so that's why she missed it...good luck though.

me too. until im ready, i dont finish inside or leave it lying around for the psychos(why do the HOT ones always have to be crazy?). I also always use a condom and then shower afterwards when it's casual sex. Men have an 85% chance of washing off the diseases(as long as there are no open cuts) because of their calous(sp?) skin down there vs. women's being moist and pourus. Because of this 27 years disease free and enjoying good sex with no babies!! hahaha.

dont worry too much man. ive had a great sex life, i just make sure im safe about it. look out for yourself, because no one else will really. Just be smart about it and you'll be fine. This stuff really just takes an extra 5-10 mins every time you have sex. Use a condom(not an old one that was in your car/wallet), shower afterwards using soap and hot water and careful where you finish. also never double up. that is the WORST thing you can do, no matter how nasty the girl is. my old sex ed professor taught this by making us rub our hands together and feeling how warm it gets. then he was like do you think that will put a whole in latex? haha.

12/24/08, 08:08 PM
I want to have kids someday, but under certain circumstances. I'd have to be married, out of college, have a job, have a husband who would also be out of college and have a steady job, be financially stable--and make sure we'd remain once I couldn't work anymore--make sure we had the time to take care of a child and also--of course--both me and my husband were wanting/ready..it's sure a huge responsibility, and I'd never want to be pregnant when i wasn't ready to live up to that responsibility.
Just thinking about how many kids are brought into this world when they can't be cared for properly...I would never want to contribute to that number as long as I can help it.
I'm on birth control and it's been working so far. I sometimes use condoms, but they seem to make my boyfriend go down immediately :/

Oh, but I know about some conditions that would make the pill not work/make it less effective.
It needs to be stored in a dry place, i.e. Not in a bathroom.
You should always take the pill at the same time every day.
And also, even if you're not planning on having sex for some time, it's best to keep taking it because once you stop, it will be a certain amount of time before it starts being effective again.
I don't know if this is new information to anyone, but just in case I figured I'd post it.

Everytime I have sex, there's that thought in the back of my had about all the things that could've gone wrong.
But my last one was hell. Basically I was an idiot and went a little bit without a condom, put it on, finished. Then went again (with a very sloppy recondoming), then again with no condom. Haha I did so many things wrong, so I was terrified the next day and the 2 following weeks. And of course this girl was weird and got a boyfriend 2 days later, so I stopped talking to her.
So I was left hoping that that call never came that says "Can we talk? Like, face to face."
No bueno.
Such a shitty feeling. I've had a few scares, and it also doesn't help that my girlfriend complains about every little ache and pain, and is pretty much always sick.
Hope things turn out for the best.

The shot is the way to go if a girl is down for that sort of thing. The pill is just as effective, but ONLY if the girl takes the pills exactly when she is supposed to. Problem is, a lot of girls don't take them when they are supposed to. Unfortunately for my friend his girlfriend was one of those girls. But now he has a beautiful girl, but it's just always more special to plan creating a life, IMO. Even if the girl I'm with is on some sort of birth control, I always wear a condom. I mean there have been exceptions, but I will at least pull out... yeah.

On topic: I have had 2 or 3 pregnancy scares. All 3 times I was furious that the girl told me before she was positive. All it did was make me freak out and of course make her freak out even more. Girls are selfish and will tell the guy simply because she doesn't want to have to freak out alone, even though she is not positive. Call me an asshole, but I think a girl should wait until she has taken a test before she tells a guy that "she might be pregnant". Sooo much unnecessary stress.

The good news: She thinks this is because she's back off the pill (misunderstanding on my part, I thought she was back ON the pill), AND, best of all, when I was talking to her tonight she started getting hardcore cramps. Which normally are bad, but in this case are wonderful because it means she'll probably get her period soon.
She says she's 70% sure she's not pregnant.
So long story short, I find out tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Not to be a total Debbie Downer but you can still get your period when you're pregnant. She should still take the test.

Yes, I realize you get your period when you're pregnant, but the point is she's not late.
But you're right, I might have her take the test anyways. Just to be 100% sure.
Going through one right now and it's terrifying. Her boobs are hurting for some reason and she's been feeling dizzy constantly. Right now I'm just praying she makes her period. I've been a nervous wreck for the last few days.
Anyone else had to deal with this?
All of my friends who don't use condoms deal with this a lot, and they say it's awful.

Well I always use a condom. But from now on I think it's going to be condom + pull-out method, even if she's on birth control. I know that sounds excessive but I don't ever want to have to go through a scare like this again.
How do people not use condoms? I don't get that.

Hahahah, I know...I'm a poor college student, I'm going to be in debt for probably the next 10-15 years of my life because of school loans, I have no money, no job, no nothing, and I have 3 1/2 more years of school to finish. She has more money saved than me, but plans on going to grad school which is another 3-4 years of schooling. There's no way either of us could support a kid.

Hahahaha going through another one this week. This is fucking ridiculous. She's been constantly nauseous for like three weeks, has weird cravings, and apparently missed her period tonight.
I bought a pregnancy test tonight and she took it...came back negative. But we're still worried because she missed her period today. That and the nausea.
This is utterly crazy, we are super safe and responsible about sex, we never use one form of birth control at a time. She's been on the pill for three weeks and I've used a condom the entire time. ONE time I thought the condom broke and she took Plan B...looking back on it the condom didn't even break, I just mistook her vaginal fluid for semen and assumed the condom broke. My bad.
So yeah, my day has been a shitstorm, between having to buy a pregnancy test and having a couple of serious discussions about what we would do if she was pregnant, I am just emotionally drained right now. To all the kids out there: practice safe sex, REALLY safe sex, so you never have to go through this, it's the worst feeling ever.

And you should, especially after a pregnancy scare like this, wait at least a few weeks for the pill to kick in (even though if she takes it according to directions she only needs a week).
Not to sound harsh but it sounds like she also might be going through something psychological. If you really are that safe and she's making every little symptom out to be a pregnancy scare I'd ask if there is something else she is freaking out about.
Pot, meet Kettle. I agree if she's just being an attention whore and does it all the time just to see what the guy will do, but if she is honestly worried, why should she have to suffer through a week or two of hell alone? If she is pregnant it's half the guy's fault, he should be willing to share half the stress.

Then a week later they call back and say "Oh sorry, that was someone else. We weren't positive, but we thought we would just tell you anyway! Sorry for all the stress.". That wouldn't bother you at all right? I get where a girl is coming from by telling the guy, but if it were me I would wait until I was positive before I made a guy replan his whole life for no reason.

Oh come on, that's a horrible analogy. Supporting someone in stressful situations is part of being in a relationship with one another. (As long as the stress is sincere and not a grab for attention like I mentioned before)
What if your wife (obvs. this example is a little later in life, but just stay with me) thought she was losing her job? Would you think it was 'selfish' of her to tell you she was worried, before she knew? Or what if a family told you he/she thought they were sick with cancer but didn't have an official diagnosis? Would you think the person was selfish for needing emotional support? Or is it just different because babies freak guys out?

I was wrong about her being on the pill last time, she actually started taking it about a month ago.
And yes, very perceptive about her going through something psychological...she suffers from mild seasonal affective disorder during January, her mom died when she was ten around this team of year. She'll have occasional episodes where she's very depressed and needs to take medication. She didn't take any medication during this pregnancy scare though, so I don't think that had anything to do with it. She also suffers from anxiety, which I think contributed to her nausea symptoms.
Oh and update: she took two pregnancy tests, both came back negative. :-) She was less than a day late for her period, but I don't think that's significant.

stress can definitely mess with periods, so if she was stressing about other stuff that could easily make her a little bit late. and she most likely wouldn't be getting nausea that early into it either - that usually takes a month or two to kick in. glad to hear it seems to have worked out!
