"Dogs."

Vitrio: Ha! He’s gone,
Little does he know
That upon his return,
There will be nothing left
I’ll turn the fool bereft.

Oh, look how they shine
What a beautiful sight
Overflowing sacks
Gathered from across the land.

But there seems to be
Something here missing
The rings…
Where did he hide them?
I won’t leave them behind…
Oh, how clever, the tree!
He must keep them inside!

It’s going to take my hatchet
To solve this
With a few strikes
They’ll be in my grasp
[Whack! Gasp.]
Blood?

De Duolcos: What have I stumbled upon?
Do my eyes deceive me?
Has Vitrio gone mad?
I hope I’m dreaming!
It's ludicrous what I'm seeing!
A mirage or maybe trickery
Or,
A thieving, scheming, devious entity!
Robbing my gifts, taking everything!
You bastard! You volatile fool!

Vitrio: That's more like it, old friend;
A step up from the normal, cowardly tool.
De Duolcos: You know NOTHING of me!
Vitrio: Oh? Is that a fact?
De Duolcos: You know not of our love!
Vitrio: "Love" has no street value. get your priorities in tact.
And with a tree no less
Are you that daft?
You're a dog, old mate,
And THAT is the truth,
I've accepted that of myself,
But, you...ohh. You...
De Duolcos: Me what, Vitrio?
I mirror nothing of you!
Vitrio: You're face is red,
I can see it in your eyes.
You could… and at least for now...
You want to.
Dogs we are,
Filthy ones, at that,
You may feed from a different bowl, you hound.
But you always remain... JUST... THAT!
*First blow thrown*
De Duolcos: You're mad!
Vitrio: You're weak!
De Duolcos: Power has no appeal!
Vitrio: THAT is mad, old friend, power is why we steal.
De Duolcos: I steal for my love.
Vitrio: Love isn't real.
De Duolcos: You're smiling...
Vitrio: I can't help it... its funny...
... How alone you must feel...

Onecca: My leaves are turning!
Coscious: My insides are breaking!
Vitrio: I feel more powerful than ever!
De Duolcos: My heart is aching!

Vitrio: A pure love is a love that's well worth the kill
... How alone you must feel.
And, I must say, it's quite a nice thrill.
... How alone you must feel.

De Duolcos: It’s never been enough!
You want it all at all cost!
But the price is higher this time,
It’s time for me to break my oath, my creed
It’s time for you to die!

Narration: De Duolcos’ eyes move from a slain Vitrio and gazes upon his lover's wound… all color leaves his face. Frantic for a remedy, he jumps to rash conclusions, each making less and less sense. Onecca implores him to stay, what she needs isn’t anything he needs to bring. She needs him by her side, but his fear is deafening. He sets out on a journey to bring her the most beautiful sight in the world, the other side of the earth! For if he was to bring her a fantastic sight, more glorious than has been seen by man's eyes, it just might prove... a cure. So using his vast wealth as a tool, he enlists every greed driven fool, as muscle to pull
The other side to her.

"Moving Mountains."

De Duolcos:
Take these chains and bring them taut
Tie them to your waist,
Give it all you've got
If you want even one gold piece
You'll make haste,
At the very least.

Take these chains and bring them taut
Use all your strength
Give it all you've got
I need to bring Onecca a scene
A glorious one,
At the very least.

Wait! Stop pulling!
Let go of the chains, men
Something's not right
There's a flaw in my plan.
If we don't stop pulling
We'll all be swimming
Coscious is turning
All living will be drowning
If we don't let them loose
There's more that we'll lose

Please men! Break pace!

Narration: But it was too late. With Onecca's weakened state, the balance was disrupted and I drew closer to the grave. I was unable to fight the chains. So instead of bringing Onecca the other side, he neglected rationality, and in turn, the world died. As the conductor, he was the only survivor, not bound to me like the rest. So he pulled himself onto my belly, alone, with blood-stained hands, he sang his lament.
