The Militia Group (http://www.themilitiagroup.com) have signed Man Alive (http://www.man-alive.com) and their album will be released in September. I've posted the band's bio below:
"The term "hardest working band" gets thrown around a lot these days. Man Alive has never used the term to describe themselves, but when a self-proclaimed "hardest working band" meets Man Alive, they usually drop the title. Man Alive was born in Jerusalem, Israel in 1999. They started playing at parties, local clubs, and events. Crowds in Israel quickly embraced their punk-driven rock, and Man Alive became one of the biggest draws in the Israeli underground music scene.
After recording their first demo in 2000, they received significant industry interest in the U.S. Most interested parties ultimately dismissed the band as “not available to tour", or "too much of a financial liability" due to their roots in Israel. In short, geography was not on their side. Despite the hurdles, Man Alive have recorded and released two full-length albums since 2001 and steadily built a fan base through consistent touring. They have played nearly 200 shows since late 2002, most of which were in North America, and traveled to over 40 states and provinces, all on their own dime. In summer 2004, the band decided to take their newest material into the studio. They recorded a thirteen-song demo of new material at their studio in Yavneel (Galilee region), and sent it off to their favorite producers in the U.S.
After hearing, and liking the songs, Ed Rose (The Get Up Kids, Emery) stepped up to the plate to produce and record their new album. At the end of their 2004 spring/summer tour they scrounged together every shekel they could (much of it from family and friends) and stepped into Blacklodge Recording Studios in Eudora, KS to create their first professionally recorded and produced album. Their new album shows how nicely the band’s sound has matured, while maintaining the energy and sing-and-shout-along spirit of their punk roots.
The Militia Group will release the new Man Alive album, titled “Open Surgery” in fall of 2005. Since bassist Jon Schkedi managed one of The Militia Group’s bands, Brandtson- the band and label have a solid relationship to build on.
With a CD in stores and tours on the way, the band has a bright future ahead of them. For now, Man Alive stays busy at home playing shows, promoting their new full-length, and saving up for what makes them happiest: relentless touring. "
