If New England wins, I'll end up rooting for Miami. If New England loses, I probably won't care who wins.

if New England wins, wouldnt you want the Jets to win so New England wins the division?

haha yea true story..after miami won a game last year i was definitely pulling for losses the rest of the way

which is why i kind of want detroit to win tomorrow...being a fan of a team that bad is not fun, i know from experience

lets go Lions...finish it up.

I would also like to see the Eagles spiral out of control v the Cowboys...and, maybe for fun, Favre throw 4 INT's, the 4th coming on the final possession to solidify the loss

preppyak
12/28/08, 08:51 AM
so...if the Lions win, Corey Fisher will walk back to Detroit?
"If we win, I ain't catching the plane back home," he said with a laugh. "I'll walk back to Detroit." So, that means he thinks his team's chances of winning are so bad that he would risk a 500 mile walk should they win...that's a sign to me that the Lions may well go 0-16 next season if they are that low right now, it took that 76-77 Bucs team til the final weeks of their 2nd season to win a game

12/28/08, 08:54 AM

holy shit
Bills radio play-by-plan man John Murphy had a lens blown out of his glasses while doing an on-field spot for NFL Network.
Now that is some ridiculous wind...and it re-bent the goal posts after the fixed them

I will not be pleased if the Giants only play their starters for a half or so today. Although they beat Carolina last week they still have a lot of room for improvement and definitely need a good game from the defense to get their confidence up.

steady 40 mph winds with gusts up to 60 in Buffalo.

won't be able to kick anything beyond an extra point, either. these are not advantageous conditions for the Pats.

Well, then you won't like this...

Giants quarterback Eli Manning (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/12/28/eli-to-play-only-one-half/#) told ESPN’s Bob Holtzman that he expects to play only one half of Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

if they don't play like they have been, i don't see the problem. If they want to pull this half assed wait til the bitter end, then its ridiculous. they need some momentum, maybe the first half of the game will be enough for them to get it back, but probably not sadly enough

Well, then you won't like this...

Mother fucker!

Coughlin showed last year that it is far better to go into the post season with momentum than play the last game trying not to get hurt. No matter what way you look at it the Giants have lost 2 out of 3...and if they lose today no matter what it will be 3 of 4. Considering if Minny wins they are in and therefore a potential contender for the playoffs makes me think a similar situation to last year could occur this year with the Giants this time on the wrong end.

I would absolutely die if Jacksonville somehow pulled off the W, the Pats won and the Dolphins took care of the Jets.

Give me the 6th seed over the division. I'd take road games at Miami and (potentially) Tennessee over a home game against Baltimore and a road game at Pittsburgh.

But that scenario is highly unlikely. The Jags quit a long time ago.

FondestMemory
12/28/08, 09:53 AM
i'd love to see the jags win. i don't want the ravens to make the playoffs.

i'd also like to see the pats and dolphins take care of business.

in the nfc, i want the bears to lose, the vikes to win, the eagles to win, and the bucs to lose. or the vikes can lose if the bears lose.

Different things in my mind though...the only thing the Giants can really lose in the Vikings games is players due to injury. If you're already making the argument they are on a slide, a win over the Vikings isn't going to correct that completely...might add a little confidence, but if they need a win in Week 17 over the Vikings for confidence, they've already lost their divisional game, no matter the opponent.

What they need is a healthy D-line and a healthy run attack...both of which can be better achieved by resting players for 2 weeks before the divisional game.

edit: And when I think about it...the Vikings only have 1/2 the Williams wall and a middle run pass defense, so running over them doesn't prove much in the immediate, nor does throwing a ton on them

excuse my fairly obvious statement, but a win always helps. i just would rather them play strong up front, rest their starters during the second and play strong before going into playoffs. i don't think it's do or die, but i would rather not see them pull a squeaker.

preppyak

yeah, no kidding Limas and Dallas, and Leftwich is more than capable of beating the Browns, thus why I figured Ben would sit.

I was secretly hoping, before reports broke they were gone, that the Browns would play great, the Steelers would lose, and Crennel/Savage would stay in Cleveland, because that's pretty much guaranteed wins for us for the last few years

Understandable. I think the same with the Steelers, but, I also know the team has won in the clutch when needed, so a meaningless loss in the final week won't kill their confidence, especially if they don't go in thinking its a must win

I get the Vikings-Giants and Pats-Bills games.

I'm still bitter about losing to the Giants last week so go Vikings! Plus, I think the Vikings are more deserving than the Bears to make the playoffs and they need to win this to get in.

I think the Pats deserve to go to the playoffs but it would be hilarious to see them choke to the Bills, so go Bills? Haha.

All the Ravens and Panthers need to do is win today. Only the Ravens need to win to make the playoffs and the Panthers are aiming for the division. They're playing beatable teams, so I think this will turn out good.
