I realized I didn't actually check out much new post-rock this year. New Mogwai was kind of a let down for me. And I kind of went back to check out some stuff I had meant to look into (Yndi Halda, God is an Astronaut... both resounding "mehs").

So, post-rock fans, what was good in '08?

Helios - Caesura
This Is Your Captain Speaking - Eternal Return
This Will Destroy You - Self Titled
Samuel Jackson Five - Goodbye Melody Mountain
Russian Circles - Station
Caspian/Constants Split
This Will Destroy You/Lymbyc System Split

Thats just some stuff I enjoyed.

every band without vocals is post-rock.

Helios - Caesura.
Kyte - Kyte.
The American Dollar - A Memory Stream.
Hammock - Maybe They Will Sing For Us Tomorrow (it was decent, worth a listen).
Kyte - Two Sparks, Two Stars.

Can't think of much else at the moment.
