There is some hate that is unnecessary here, sure. But seriously, the level of self-absorption that youth is undergoing these days needs some harsh words. The level of "fucking look at me!" in everything popular these days, right down from posting videos of yourself doing (most of the time) nothing at all on the internet as if everybody wanted to see them, to the gawdy clothing. It's a poorly drawn cartoon of punk rock and "indie," and also individualism gone completely wrong. How one can be so into themselves and so down and out for supposedly "sincere" reasons at the same time is about as beyond me as it gets.

I also don't think anyone's going to push "emo kids" "over the edge." Seriously? How many of them are ACTUALLY depressed and/or suicidal? It's a trend and image. I'm all for not being a jerk to people, but one also has to understand why things come under criticism.

If you like her/The Assistant, check out Wrong Day To Quit. Its yet another project from pretty much everyone in TSWS and The Assistant. Vicissitudes was actually a pretty good listen, and she does some singing as well as screaming.
