Could someone please explain to me how to play a chord? They're in a few songs I want to learn, and I don't understand how to play them. I've read a few descriptions on how to play them, but I still don't get it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just play more than one note, using a pick or plucking both at the same time. You can find voicings for chords online. Search for those.

I don't use chords. It makes it sound bad to me. Not many fret combinations sound good together on the bass.

just play the fifth, like a power chord on the bass. it sounds good if you use it right.

3rds don't sound to bad either.

umm... there are hundreds of chords for bass, scott... and they all sound pretty good if that's what you're going for.
