I was looking at sympaticos websites on the entertainment when I saw a article called "(ChartAttack) Review of NOFX's June 22nd Toronto concert." I though to myself, awesome, NoFx is getting some spotlight. Until i read this discusting article, it is untrue, and made up. I immediately wrote an email to the website asking why this nonsense was posted. This is what it said:

(ChartAttack) Review of NOFX's June 22nd Toronto concert.

Kool Haus
June 22, 2005
Toronto, Ontario
by Keith Carman

"I don't know about out there, but it sounds like ass up here on the stage," whined Against Me! singer Tom Gabel minutes into their set. He needn't have worried. It sounded like shit out on the Kool Haus floor as well.

But this time around, it wasn't the fault of the cavernous venue. Against Me! just plain sucked. While one must give them credit for performing as if their lives depended on it, jumping and thrashing around recklessly, it still felt overly dramatic, as if they were telling themselves that if they expended every iota of energy they had, they would be cool.

rouble is, after 40 minutes I still couldn't remember one of their songs — they all blended into pointless mush.

Their performance was made all the more worse because of Calgary's Chixdiggit! Wailing away in their typical carefree nature, the randy foursome were particularly kitschy on this evening. Loose to the point of almost falling apart (which is decidedly hard given that Chixdiggit! songs are like, two chords each), they were in danger of losing it altogether at times.

Somehow their half-hour set was raucous and upbeat enough to sway the almost-full room. Blame it on their insanely hooky bubblegum riffs that The Ramones would have killed to write. Given their cheery, lighthearted performance, it's not surprising that Against Me!'s melodramatic jumping couldn't compare.

By the time now-old school snotty punks NOFX were ready to go the crowd was seething with anticipation. However, most of the show was predictable — even if you've only caught one of the band's miniscule Warped Tour sets, you've seen it all. They read like washing instructions:

1. Singer/bassist Fat Mike makes some snide-yet-humourous comment.

2. Band struggle through a song.

3. People throw shit.

4. Repeat until it's gone on for just about too long.

Thankfully, even they realized that they were in danger of repetition and treated us all to some choice, off-the-beaten-path NOFX material, most notably "The Decline" and "Bleeding Heart Disease." They even unfurled a new, hilarious tune dedicated to Canada's wonderful marijuana.

On this night, NOFX opted to pepper the rare shit with pleasers like "Linoleum" instead of vice versa and it was much appreciated. Surely, this disappointed the first-timers waiting to hear "Bob," but for the longhorns it was a blessing.
