Cartel (http://www.cartelrocks.com) have now finished tracking at legendary Tree Sound Studios (Outkast, Beastie Boys, Jimmy Eat World, Whitney Houston, Zwan, etc.) in their hometown of Atlanta for their smashing debut album entitled “Chroma.”

We just can't express enough how excited and proud we are of Cartel's record. It's BIG, ANTHEMIC, CATCHY, and UNPREDICTABLE. These songs are everything you could ask for in a debut record. Vocalist Will Pugh opens the album singing the words "Baby, don't follow their lead," through a telephone as a microphone (literally,) in the track Say Anything (Else). As the album progresses, you will be able to hear other clever and daring techniques used in recording- allowing what Alternative Press called "Wind-in-the-hair power pop" to be just that but much much more.

Listen for their new catchy album flagship Honestly, my personal favorite The Minstrel's Prayer which contains 68 drum tracks and 80 string tracks, and a fantastic re-recording of the fan-adored Luckie St.

This album will without a doubt set this band apart from all other bands in their genre and serve as a distinct listening experience.

Frequent www.themilitiagroup.com for tour updates and more. Honestly also appears on Militia’s Summer 2005 Sampler, the Summer ASCAP sampler, and poly-bagged in Alternative Press magazine.

Produced, recorded and mixed by Zach Odom and Kenneth Mount at Tree Sound Studios.

If you're going to call it anything at least call it the 'promotion machine' - it sounds better to me, "hype" for some reason has a negative connotation with me.

I would agree with you..because what you said sounds more like a marketing ploy rather then a hype stent... I am intrested to listen to this cd..they have sounded good to me so far...and you saying they have 80 drum tracks and 623423 whatevers really makes me intrested to listen..(<--that is not sarcasm)..saying those things work...

"The Minstrel's Prayer" sounds like the coolest song ever! I can't wait to hear it. Also, haven't we established that "Q" and "A" is basically one 12 min. song broken into 2 parts? If so, can't wait to hear that one too. Man, I love  Cartel.

New version...basically the same thing though, just better recorded.

Hook 'em, btw. I lived in Austin for 12 years and had season tickets to Longhorn football games. Saw Ricky break the record.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS CD!!! but honestly, i dont think they should have re-recorded luckie st. i think that you should just leave things that are golden alone (aka version 1 of suspension by mae...the new version sucks). i mean, the song is amazing how it is, plus the recording of their EP is just astounding. idk either way cartel has been one of my favorite bands since they've first formed so ill stick with em all the way.

someone said that the titles of the last two tracks were short (Q and A). Jason was just saying do you prefer those long titles that go nowhere.
