Saosin Poster Design Contest

Saosin (www.saosin.com) are having a poster designing contest, check the details below:

-They need two designs. One for their dates with Terminal and NO Warning, and one for Warped Tour.
-There must be blank spaces included in each design, to write in pertinant information that will change daily (ie, for the headlining tour- the venue info; for Warped- their set time each day). ps- They are on the Maurice Stage for Warped, that info should be included.
-Posters will be 11"x17" and should be psp files.

-Winners will be determined by Chris + Sammy, and the prize is tickets to the next Saosin show of your choice.

-You can post designs here (http://www.saosin.forumsunlimited.com/index.php?showtopic=8455), send Sammy a message on their myspace (www.myspace.com/saosin), or email them to sammy@saosin.com- All entries must be in Jpeg format.

-Contest ends on July 1st--One week.

I think they mean that when you show the kids your design, you show them a JPEG. But you should keep your .psd file. And the posters should probably be AT LEAST 300 resolution.

Really? Why don't you start going through the Yellow Pages and call every printer in your area and ask their opinion. You can stop when one tells you that they don't prefer PDF's. I have a feeling that you actually have no idea what PDF's are or how Acrobat is used. Just a hunch. But hey, have fun emailing your 11X17 300dpi Photoshop file.

Local businesses and event organizers do it all the time too. Generally, instructors are obligated to pass the news along to students. That usually doesn't stop them from adding their two-cents if they don't feel that the "prize" is up to par.
