I don't know if many of you guys have seen or even heard of the sport known as AFL. It is pretty much the national sport of Australia (asides from cricket). I will try and spread the word to you uneducated folk because it is an extremely athletic sport that requires great skill and fitness. Check it out at www.afl.com.au

I watch this on Fridays on FOX Sport's Net. Pretty intense and brutal. That yellow/black team is really good. It's cool when they beat each other up then some guy pops out of nowhere and catches the ball and gets a free kick.

it's great to watch, it just won't catch over here because there are no local teams to support

That is a litte unfortunate but you guys seem to catch on to most sports eventually. I actually thought that some areas had local competitions. You should try and promote the game coz you have to admit that its better than American Football. American Football is good but it is too slow and the game takes so long considering you only have one hour of action. AFL games take about 2 hours (senior games) but they action is non-stop

No Rugby is a different game. Rugby is definitely insane. But AFL is a lot better. Its an extremely fast, free-flowing game. Highly skillful and athletic. Here is an example of what some of the players can do.

Rugby is alright, but american football is a lot better....I think most people would agree.

my dad was a football player but me and my bro grew up with an extreme dislike of it. I really don't care for football but I think'd I be to much of a puss to consider AFL or Rugby. Unless I was guranteed free life support and icepacks. But in American generally speaking, football would definately last longer here.

I can see where your coming from because it is the game that you have grown up with. It is in the culture of your country and its the sport you love and choose to follow. It is the exact same thing with AFL for me. You must admit that AFL is an awesome sport. So is rugby. Plus they don't have to wear pads. American football pussies! lol Just kidding
