It always strikes me as so interesting that such different songs appeal to everyone from albums. What I thought were the obvious amazing songs verses what everyone else thought. Its just so drastically and consistently different.

Gen79 is pretty much a street team for FYS and bands like Chiodos and Set Your Goals. On the album review project at buzznet, you sign up to review albums before they come out and get the album in the mail for free prior to its release date. It's definitely something for people who like to promote bands, especially Four Year Strong<3.

From what it said, you get to hang out with the band for the day they are in your city for TOC, and you get tickets for the show. That's all I know, and I got the 'runner-up' prize which was tickets so I'm happy with that.

Album is really tight. About as cool as a tribute album can get. They really kill it (IMO) on Semi Charmed Life.

Okay, so I finally got round to listening to this, and I have to say, I really, really like it.
Stand-out tracks for me are Ironic, Semi Charmed Life, Spiderwebs and She's So High. I honestly think that the Ironic cover is probably one of the best covers I've heard in a bloody long time, and while She's So High is my least favourite of the 4 I listed, I just love that song anyway.

Only song that I really don't like is Fly, but it's still a bloody good album. Can't wait for their "proper" album now:-d

It will expose Four Year Strong to fans who might never had heard them just in time for a new release. They did a solid job on making the covers their own...the Sugar Ray cover is gold. If the covers bum you out...I heard some band Set Your Goals released the Album Of The Year today. Maybe check them out.

Wait where did someone hear it would be 4 months? They said it would be soon when I saw them in Iowa City, and they were working on demos right now. But I think four months is probably a little too soon to think. They're out on tour till September (according to their myspace). Then they would have to finish writing if they aren't finished with that, actually record the album, figure out artwork, packaging, press, etc.

I think this should be obvious considering they're on Decaydance, but I don't see a real difference between them and say, the Academy Is... or Panic! at the Disco other than their fucking outward aesthetic. Musically, there might be slight differences but they still have those goddamn AWFUL vocals. This is NOT pop-punk and it is NOT hardcore. Fuck this band. Fuck them hard.

I think this should be obvious considering they're on Decaydance, but I don't see a real difference between them and say, the Academy Is... or Panic! at the Disco other than their fucking outward aesthetic. Musically, there might be slight differences but they still have those goddamn AWFUL vocals. This is NOT pop-punk and it is NOT hardcore. Fuck this band. Fuck them hard.

Well what did they finish last month? If it's the actual recording, there's still mixing and mastering that needs to be done. If not, the label needs some time to build hype for the record.
