What albums have you hated at first but started to really like over time?
Panic At The Disco's A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is one of mine. I used to hate this album but lately I've been spinning it a lot

Pretty sure every album I have has stayed the same since the day I got it.
Not sure though.

Gorillaz - Demon Days
I loved their self titled, thought the predecessor was crap. But then I got into MF Doom and El Manana and I ended up loving it.
I mean come on, who doesn't love Dennis Hopper?

I've never listened to Gorillaz. I always hated their singles and those masks they continuously wore on their music videos used to be so annoying to me

Galaxie 500's Blue Thunder fo shoooo. At first I was really meh about it. But I really like it now. Also MBV's album Loveless. Yeah yeah I know...I still think Slowdive are better though :-)!

When I got this album when it first came out, I could never really wrap my head around it. As I've gotton older and continued playing it, its only gotton better.

Strawberry Jam by Animal Collective took a while for me to get into, but now I love it.
Fleet Foxes self-titled didn't hit till repeat listens and neither do Bon Iver's album. Both are great.

That's interesting, that album lost a lot of steam for me after repeat listens, I used to like it, no it seems substanceless.

That's exactly how I felt when it first came out. I loved it for like a week then threw it amongst a pile of other cds and haven't looked back until now. And listening to it again I have to say it's really a fun album to listen to and Brendon's vocals are really great. Bigger fan of new Panic though

That's because they are. Or at least "Souvlaki Space Station" is better than Loveless, but then that's probably my favorite song by a Shoegaze band, ever (well, Ride have some good ones). It took me a while to get into Galaxie 500 as well. Their cover of "Ceremony" is what finally got me into them (which is funny because it took me forever to get into Joy Division, too).

The New Frontiers - Mending
Didn't really like it upon my first listen, but as I continued to listen to it, it just got better and better.

Hit The Lights- Skip School Start Fights
and The Years Gone By- Forever Comes too Soon,
both of these records i had to listen to about 20-30 times before i began to understand any of the songs. something about the way that the albums were mixed made them very guitar based and i could make out what each song what supposed to sound like. They all smeared together and sounded loud. After listening to them a bunch, i love the HTL record so much, and After my band opened for the years gone by i had a better understanding of what they were all about.

Fair enough. The next Panic record should be good, hopefully they don't over do the throwback pop-rock thing though.

the academy is...- fast times at barrington high.
they released three songs before the actual release of the album and i felt all three were the same. however after a few listens i really enjoyed it. even though it's named one the most disappointing albums of the new year =/

I really want to like this album it just doesn't do anything for me. I've kept listening but I really can't get into it. I'm going to keep trying to listen to this album and hopefully fall in love with it because it seems everyone loves it

Still can't for the life me understand the appeal of HTL. Their songs seem so repetitive for me

The National's Boxer and Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago each took me around a year if not longer to get into.

I thought the Gaslight Anthem's latest was pretty boring when I listened to it the first two times, but then I listened to it more after I saw them live and I absolutely love it

Hot Water Music - A Flight & A Crash

TSLROCKS-
i somewhat understand what your talking about with HTL. If you listen to "this is a stick up" (their first record) the songs sound more different. The New Album the songs sound very similar. Ive grown to like it.
