I like subtitles, especially in historical films. I would probably like Gladiator more than I already do if everyone was speaking in Latin. :-d

Hahaha, it's okay. Honestly, it must really suck. I have an annoying brother that loves You Got Served. But, I at least have my sister that shares the same taste.

Nice avatar.

Thanx. I'm hoping someone loses a toe in Season 5 so we can all be like "OMGZ!!"

The only people I know that have anything in common with me in terms of movies and music are friends that live hours away.

I hate the logic as well that people say they miss the movie by having to read. I wonder if my friends are slow readers when they say that.

I don't mind them in foreign films, but I find them distracting when the characters are already speaking English.

I think it was called Last Deadly Mission or something.

I use subtitles on just about everything I watch -- foreign language or not. Just a habit I picked up and don't really know why.

I used to put the closed captioning on while watching tv because my family interrupts a lot. You catch every word that way. Now I just re-watch online if I miss something.

for me, sometimes the speech in the film is hard to hear, so i sometimes use english subtitles on english speaking films

I watched an Argentianian film once and the accent and dialect were annoying me so I put the subtitles on. And I'll watch other Spanish films with English subtitles sometimes too that I understand perfectly just because I like to catch the bad translations.

I use subtitles when I watch almost any movie. Basically all of them except musicals.

I have a friend like this. It's dumb because he loved Pan's Labyrinth, but it took me months to get him to watch Battle Royale just because of the subtitles.

x3. No idea why. It bugs the hell out of my family.

Subtitles are nice, especially when for some reason the dialogue is hard to hear (but the sound effects are loud enough as it is).

Also, my sister and I have them on all the time (since she can't hear certain pitches as well).

Wow, I thought I was weird for doing this. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Same here. For some reason I always put subtitles on no matter what the movie.

And through my job at working at Blockbuster, I've met tons of people who brought up (great) foriegn films and have complained about the subtitles. In fact, I hear it almost every day and it gets on my nerves to no end.

I also use subtitles on everything, I like to read + listen to what the characters on screen are saying, makes things that much better for me.
