this is actual aid, not a loan right? I can't get financial aid, my parents made too much money, but they helped out w/ my college so it was all good

Well, initially I had just a student loan, an academic scholarship and a soccer scholarship. But I applied for a scholarship from our school that pays for a semester's worth of tuition and I got that. So now I have a $5,500 stafford loan, my academic scholarship got lowered from like $7,000 to $6,180, the alumni scholarship that I won was $8,800 and I have $5,000 for soccer. I dunno, I'll believe it when I see the refund check in mid September. I can't go willy nilly with the money though, I need some of it to pay for rent and what not during soccer season since I really can't work the hours then that I was working last semester, I'm just way too busy. I think I'm going to upgrade my desktop PC though. Probably buy a new motherboard, CPU and harddrive. We shall see, like I said, I'll believe it when I the refund check is sitting in the palm of my hand.

The nice thing is after I'm done with school I think I'll only owe between $16,000 and $18,000 worth in Stafford loans and in all reality, that's really not that bad.

Dear Rick,
I'm sorry, but I think I'll be buying myself a 19 inch flat panel computer monitor.
With love,
Kara

The crappy thing is that I had initially forgot and suddenly realized, if that's what I really am getting back I'll get half of it first semester and the other half second semester.

I know, I feel like I won the lottery, but I almost think it's too good to be true and the school's going to end up doing something to screw me over.

Yea, like I said earlier I'm going to have $16k to $18k worth of student loans, but compared to the majority of college students, that's really not that bad.
