If you plan on attending this summers Coast To Coast Roast tour with Orange County headliners, Reel Big Fish (http://www.reel-big-fish.com), don't plan on seeing American Hi-Fi (http://www.americanhi-fi.com) on the bill any longer. Apparently the band has left the tour in need of some time off to 'recharge'. The Fish are currently in search of a new direct support band and they will inform you of their decision shortly.

Does anyone else see this as a good thing? Maybe Catch 22 to fill in? :)

Haha, they probably left because no one liked them or pretended to.
Too bad they didn't drop off last week, before I had to suffer through them.

Recharge A.K.A. suck dick for a decent amount of coke to last them the entire tour.

How was the show? Tell me about it.

I might be the only person in the world who enioys American Hi-Fi. They're not amazing, but they're still on my fun music to listen to list (a la Bowling For Soup).

It's not like I can make the show here anyway; it's the day before I get back from Alaska and I can't come back early.

Well, I got there late so I missed the frist three bands which was sad.
American Hi-Fi was just awful. I don't like them anyways, but it seemed like they weren't really into it. And they're from Boston, the show was in Providence, so you would think they had friends and family there and they'd be pumped. My friend likes them, and she wasn't impressed either.
RBF was good though. They played a dece set. The crowd, however, sucked. Everyone there seemed as though they had no idea what to do at a ska show. I guess you could say they had a mosh pit, but not really. The show definitely lacked in the skanking, but we did what we had to, and we skanked (read: we pushed people out of our way and kicked them in the shins).
It was definitely worth my 20 bucks, as RBF usually is.

They should move Punchline up to the direct support.

I'd like to see Zolof moved up, but I don't think that'll happen. That would give them a chance to play a few more songs; maybe they'd even break out "Plays Pretty For Baby."

But there's a snowball's chance in hell of that happening.

that 'geeks get the girls' song is the worst catastrophe since 'sk8er boi'. but worse, cuz at least avril was like 17, these dudes are well over 30.

i also will never understand how zolof got a record deal/get to tour w/ a major label act. their drummer is horrid their singer is annoying and their music is so watered down 80's pop you'd HAVE to be a 14 year old fat chick to get into it. sorry but its true. the whole 'hey i'm a cutsie wutsie blonde singer girl singing about pirates and shit' shtick is so rediculous.

I think that is pretty sweet. I would love to see a new ska band like the Highschool Football Heroes take the opening spot. It sucks that the tour isn't coming to Toronto because of Wakestock, but rbf will be good at the festival I am sure.

Yes! Why is Punchline going before El Pus?

Yea, and how awful is it when they sing "we're the kids in America". NO YOU'RE NOT!! They're old enough to be parents to the kids of America.

My vote for Punchline to be main support. They outdraw everyone else(minus RBF) anyway(Including American hi Fi).

Talk shit all you want, but Hi-Fi a really good band. they know how to write good, fun songs and they don't pretend to take themselves seriously. Not everyone wants to write a dark hardcore song, and they don't try to. All their influences are from bands like the pixies, the clash, and costello... About them dropping off this tour, alot of you don't know that all these guys do is tour. Its not like u see them promoting their album on mtv summer swim fest or whatever. They tour. Thats what they do. I've never toured for over a year straight in support of a new album of mine, but i'm sure it will take a beating out of me eventually.

No, how about a ska band.

Does anybody remember last years coast to coast tour?

lucky boys confusion, Rx bandits , catch 22, suburban legends/big d and the kids table, and reel big fish...

could a ska fan ask for much more? I dont think so...

And this year is just dissapointing, but hell its reel big fish, I hope catch 22 fill in.

no one on this tour is a dark hardcore band.
And yes american hi-fi suck.
Good for them if they aren't on mtv,
that doesnt meant anything, they still suck.

Wait, so they dropped off the tour...when it started on the 22nd?
Less than a week and they need 'to recharge'?
Something happened, but I am excited.
The last time a band dropped out last minute on a show I was seeing was HIPV. (on the LTJ tour recently)
The AKAs replaced them.

I want to go to the Friday CT date, just to see who they end up bringing along...and to see Punchline. (Greg Wood, represent CT)

And I must add that last years lineup was beyond awesome, and this year's lineup is not as close, but RBF is RBF.

That's their job, if they can't handle it maybe they should stop making music and get regular jobs. I know plenty of bands that go on tour longer than that without having a bus (I'm assuming so much since they had a huge hit) and only get to eat 4 or 5 days a week. Lots of bands would kill to be able to get on that good of a tour and all they do is drop off. To me it's like a smack in the face to all musicians.

That's weak, you guys...American Hi-Fi just put out a very respectable album, filled with what they call "pop gems," and I for one truly regret the loss of their presence on what promises to be one of the more memorable tours (at least to the Spokane, WA area) in recent memory.

But still, it would be rad if they got somebody like Cauterize or some other random super-rock act to go out with them!!!

Zolof + RBF = the reason I would go. El Pus/Punchline/American Hi Fi were meh for me anyways. I love, love, love Zolof and RBF, and I told Rach if she ever comes to the Northwest I would go see them, so looks like I have to!
