I did too. It was kind of depressing, though, and while watching it I couldn't help but think how unfortunate those kids were... I hope I don't sustain these thoughts throughout its entire season.

Like everyone else, I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I felt bad for the kids at first, but when I realized that everyone in the family was actually ok with it and dealing with it in their own ways, it made me feel better. I'm really interested in seeing the Alice character, but I'm glad they introduced T and Buck first.

Haha, me too. The brother's character is probably the most interesting to me. I enjoyed watching every scene he was in... so I'll have to keep a lookout for future brother scenes.

On a side note, it does seem like a fascinating plot. A pretty simple one at that, but fascinating, nevertheless.

I just watched the pilot, and I really enjoyed it. I don't get Showtime, but I'll just do the same thing I do with Weeds...find it online the next day. I could see how these kids would be unfortunate, not having a stable mother, but it could also be pretty entertaining (I can't think of the right word for it) to have all of these different characters in their lives.

well that was obviously a shitty review that you read, there has been so much positive reviews of this show that whatever you read is probably the ugly duckling in the bunch. There is only a little quirky dialogue and it's usually really clever stuff

4th episode (airs February 8th) is out there:

It was really nice to have an episode without any dominant appearances of any of the alters. We get to see Tara dealing with her "problem" rather than the alters dealing with them...if that makes any sense. Pretty much all of the characters are interesting and developing as the episodes go on. I definitely think that if it was one of the alters that did it, it was Alice that wrote "Die yuppie cunt" on Tiffany's wall. Mostly because I think she wants to cause Tara just enough problems so she can really take over. But, there are reasons for all of the alters to vandalize her wall. Another great episode.

Watched episodes 2 and 3 last night and I really don't like Alice. Too weird for me. The daughter is a complete and total bitch. I actually did enjoy what Alice did to her. I like the development of the characters, although I was really hoping for an episode where Tara doesn't turn into anyone else and in episode 3 when she turned into Buck, I was a bit disappointed.

Anyway, can't wait to watch the fourth episode!

at first I thought it was the sister because she was pissed about not being able to reach her quota or whatever and it seemed blondie spoke down to her. but the way Tara and her sister were at the end, I really don't think she did it. Aright episode. The only real advancement of the plot this episode was with Marshall. The scene with Marshall on the bed was getting extremely awkward, but it would have been even more awkward if he didn't kiss him back haha. I really hope the last few episodes get a bit more exciting.

The finale was so much better than the 11th episode. I kind of knew that Tara's traumatic event was not whatever happened with Trip. It would've been much harder to write a second season if Tara already knows why she has DID.

Ohhhh I wasn't really paying much attention at that point. Loved seeing Gimmie hiding under the seats with her orange poncho on. Great way to end the season.

Yeah, the end of last night's episode was pretty emotional, when Tara was telling her daughter to go to Japan and they lied there together, you know that they both were sick and tired of living like that and that Kate really needs something outside of her immediate family for a while

Kate's my favourite and I don't necessarily want her to go, but I thought that scene in particular was done really nicely and I'm glad they took it in that direction. I also thought Tara did a great job when she started to cry and just leaned into Kate, rather than Kate being the one to do it first (at least this is how I remember it?), because it just showed how frustrated Tara is with herself too.
