Hey guys, i know this isnt the self promotion area, but im not really looking for promotion so much as feedback. My band Farwell Fighter just posted our first two songs from our upcoming EP, and before we finish recording we want to get as much feedback as possible. so if you have a few moments, please head over to our myspace and check them out, message us, or just respond here what you think. Any feedback would be VERY helpful. Thanks a ton, and happy new year!

I'm pausing Sufjan to check it out so I better not disappoint...

The lyrics don't make any sense sometimes and not in the good way like John Lennon but when they do form a coherent thought, they're actually sort of interesting. The music, melodies, and themes are all really generic though. Expose yourself to different types of music (blues, jazz, indie, foreign, acoustic, etc.) to acquaint yourself with new melodies and chord structures and let it influence your songwriting and see what happens.

Maybe because you said please, but since it's in Caps it looks desperate, so maybe not.

seriously everyone, why is everyone so quick to be an ass about stuff. i was asking for help so we could become a better band. ive been drumming for 19 years, im not looking for approval. if you dont like the STYLE of music then dont listen to it, lunchinthesky was just out of line. if you want to offer constructive criticism then offer it, dont just tell us to play a different style of music.

The only reason I listened to your song is because of his comment, so consider yourself lucky that he was "out of line". If you don't like people being deuchebags, go post your band somewhere else.

I agree with him, the music is fine but nothing sticks out. It's not anything I would return to again later.

all im saying is, think about spending hundreds of dollars, countless hours, and a shit ton of effort on something. then posting it to a website you've been contributing to for years, trying to get feedback and constructive criticism, just to immediately get shot down by people who have no interest in the style of music you play. i know its pop, im not a dumbass. if i posted gangster rap you wouldn't tell me to listen to acoutsic, indie, and foreign music to mold my sound, because it has nothing to do with what im going for. I've been around the block, as a music performance major, and played in many many different style of bands. I know what your saying, and what i intended to imply was that your advice was directed towards totally changing the style of music we have produced, not offering advice on how to polish what we've already decided is our direction as a band. im not talented enough to be jessie lacy, but maybe i can get on warped tour someday.
