Aaaron Barrett of Reel Big Fish (http://www.reel-big-fish.com) has added a couple of new entries to his online journal (http://www.reel-big-fish.com/aaron/), which provides a little more insight on why American Hi-Fi left the Coast To Coast Roast tour, as well as his feelings from the road.

This lineup is very intresting, Punchline is the only band I could actually see on this tour.

this sucks....i wish streetlight manifesto was on the NJ date...no big deal tho, i saw them a week earlier at stone pony, awesome show esp with whole wheat bread !!...i hope the fish swims back to Jersey (yes i know it was corny but oh well haha) in the fall with a whole reggae/ska lineup....that would kick ass...later people

Wait, so is he saying "It would be awesome to get Streetlight out here to replace American Hi-fi" or "Streetlight is going to replace American Hi-fi"?

Streetlight isn't touring atm...but they should be working on their record lmao.
Streetlight is probably the best choice I can think of for them to tour with, seeing the bands that are available.

I said get streetlight there in the other thread :/

But they need to get working on their new stuff already.

I think the cool thing about this tour was how diverse it was. I was glad to see a ska band touring with the likes of Punchline and American Hi Fi. I love American Hi-Fi and all I can say is that if kids can't be openminded and only like SKA then they are missing out on a whole lot of good music. I am still going to this show next week but I must say that I wish American Hi- Fi was still on this bill. :headshake

like I said in the other thread, they left because no one liked them.

American Hi-Fi deserves a much better reputation than people give them. Wish I would have gotten to see the Butch Walker vs. American Hi-Fi tour.

I see Streetlight doing this for one reason: This tour is being booked by Lucky Artist (also the reasoning for the strange lineup, El Pus, Punchline, and Zolof The Rock And Roll Destroyer are all booked by Lucky Artist). And... Streetlight Manifesto is also booked by Lucky Artist, apparently Aaron is down with them too.. maybe it'll happen.

American Hi-Fi was only supposed to do half of this tour anyway, with another similar (draw and music) band taking the 2nd half of the tour but, something happened with that band and American Hi-Fi was asked to do the whole thing.. apparently they're fairly burnt out though, makes sense, they have been touring their asses off. I don't see RBF fan's taking them under their wing anyway, except for the whole "sarcastic/witty" attitude thing, probably a good decision on Hi-fi's part.... If Streetlight gets added to this, i'll be there.

BASEketball is hilarious. And that's probably one of the best 80's covers ever.. very well done.

I hope Streetlight will be joining them. I really would like an official statement, but whoever is being added i hope they will join the tour soon so i can see them. However if the replacement blows they should wait a week before they come so i do not have to be tortured. But more ska would be nice. Ska = Fun.

Reel Big Fish's site says that as of July 17 (New Orleans), Catch 22 will be joining the tour. This doesn't surprise me anymore than adding Streetlight would have.. though, it makes the tour look a little more similar to last year's Coast To Coast Roast, which is kind of monotonous.

Haha, I just posted that as well. I came home to find and e-mail with that info in my inbox, and now after I posted it I see that like 6 people submitted it as well. Big news, you could say.

how could the ska kids have accepted melee, then?
not saying they're bad, just they're way more poppy than american hi-fi.

You know I bet you are wondering why Mr. Brandon Allin hasn't responded to this statement in a violent manner. Its because he is currently in route to your house to kill you for it.

Always respect a man's love for his ska.
