Does anyone know around what time its coming out? I know its going to be released sometime in 2009, and Butch Vig is producing it, which is pretty cool. Should be pretty epic. Is there any other good bands coming out with big albums in '09?

Was the Green Day thread not good enough?

First, he will never reach that level of "perfetion". Second, 400 posts is nothing. Why are you acting like 400 posts is a lot?

Do your parents know your up this late? No, dude my mom is so gay, I just wait until she goes to bed then I use the computer. I'm not allowed to be up this late, but I don't care what anyone says.

Got a punk right here. Dude, I'm the most punk guy in my middle school, everyone just listens to all this gay-ass Fall Out Boy and Gaslight Anthem and gay faggy emo shit like that, but I keep it real and lsiten to real hardcore fuckin' music like five finger death punch and slipknot and stuff.

To make a serious post though, if you like Green Day, I would assume you'd like a lot of bands in that genre and similar ones etc. I know AvA and +44 both intend to release records this year. Also Paramore. But Paramore seems to be hit and miss with people. I would expect Sugarcult to release something some time soon, but they might be defunct now, haven't been keeping up with them.

Some advice. Most kids that really don't care about anything anyone says and shit, aren't going to bother making a case for themselves on a forum. Also, most "punks" I know would never talk about how "hardcore" and shit they are.

I'm hit or miss with a lot of bands in that genre. I do like +44 and Paramore, I never got in to Sugarcult and I have a distaste for AvA. +44's debut record was pretty decent and I wonder how Paramore's follow up album to Riot! is going to be.

Paramore needs to release a career defining record or they are going to fizzle out. Also they should ditch FBR so more people would take them "seriously". (for lack of a better term)

Meh, I'd believe it. His post that is of questionable honesty would tip it the other way, but I am convinced he is serious.

Yea, bands on FBR are really not my thing, not to take anything away from the label, they have had a lot of success

The reasons they need to ditch FBR is they will either get sidelined like what happened to Panic, or they will reach super sellout status like Fall Out Boy. Both would ruin them.

Also to add the serious part of this thread. The new Green Day album is probably going to be one of their last. They have sold out twice now. Quite an achievement, but I feel they are running out of power chord material to release.

I think they have one more after this one left in them. So you think they sold out when they released Dookie and American Idiot? I don't know those we're two fantastic albums.

Dookie was solid. American Idiot was a departure from "Green Day's" sound. I liked the change in some aspects, but hated it in others. Both were solid records though.

The problem they face is that American Idiot didn't redefine their sound. It showed an evolution of their sound, but kind of left it hanging with no clear direction.

This next album will need to really define their "new" sound if they want to keep releasing successful records.
