View Full Version : Metric, really underated in america.
Metric is popular in canada, but not here in the U.S
Anyone like them? Heard of them?
They've been my favorite band for a few years now, I'm waiting for a new release.

I got into them when I heard Monster Hospital. :-) Still my favorite but all of it is good.

Not popular in the U.S.? Metric are super popular thanks to the BSS association and the "Monster Hospital" remix that MSTRKRFT did (at least I remember that song getting played day and night in LA when it first came out). They have almost 500,000 listeners on last.fm.
I saw them live in 06 and they were pretty fun. Haines wore a really...really short dress.

They're not that good and, being both a Canadian born and raised and attending university in the states, I can attest to the fact that they're relatively well-known to (sigh) both respective countries "indie crowds," for lack of a better term.

i love metric. i think a lot of people in the US listen to them, but they're just not popular in the mainstream. i used to work at victoria's secret and we played raw sugar all the time though, haha.

I used to love them, hence my username. I haven't really kept up with them for the past couple of years though. Don't they have a new album coming out sometime soon? I thought I read that somewhere...
