Recently been listening to them a lot. Very good album. I wish I could see them live though.. sounds like a band that would be even better live. Took a while to get used to how low the vocals were in the mix.

I saw live videos of them on youtube, that's about it.

The Airing of Grievances is a great album and it's really underrated, they deserve more attention. However, I don't really think that the singer sounds like Conor. Maybe his voice is a little similar, but not as much as some people say :)

Great album, great band. They're absolutely fantastic live and are really cool dudes. Their vocalist was gone the entire time though, haha, he was pretty damn high. He was still spot on with all his notes and there was a lot of energy on stage, you could tell everyone in the crowd was getting it. They've been touring with Los Campesinos!, so most people looked like they were there for LC.

One of the best live bands I've ever seen. They killed it. And their cover of "Surfin Bird" (bird bird bird, bird is the word) was insane.
They're opening for Ted Leo here this June. w00t!

I'm not too sure about the new one. I haven't gotten around to it but I sampled one of the songs off myspace yesterday...and I didn't really agree with the new sound. But who knows, I'll try to listen to the whole album soon enough.

It's a really long listen, over an hour I think, but definitely worth it. My AOTY so far.

I'm in a serious conundrum. Their myspace says their LA show at the Bootleg Theater is 18+, but the bootleg theater website says 21+. If it's 21 I'm going to have to make the trip up to SB to see them open for Ted Leo, but I'm not Ted's biggest fan and would rather see them headline. Silly mixed messages!

I just downloaded The Monitor a few days ago. Definitely one of the best albums that have come out so far. It's completely making me ignore the new Envy on the Coast despite how good that is.
And i love that the album is this long.

They played at Penn State's "Last Stop" music festival, which was a very bad idea. I was the only one out of my friends to ever hear of them, along with practically 90% of the crowd. I thought they put on a great show, but everyone was fed up with the fact that they went on about 2 hours late. Plus, it didn't help that most people were there to see Fabulous.
Overall though, they were the highlight of the night. Aside from me getting punched in the face by a sorostitute.

The Monitor is a great record, but it's really long and sometimes I just don't want to be yelled at for an hour and a half, so it probably doesn't get a listen as often as it should.

Haha, no I really do enjoy them. I put off listening to them for a while because I have some friends that really loved them, but our tastes in music clash pretty hard, and so I just figured they weren't going to be my type of thing. Then my brother started listening to them and we sat around one afternoon and listened to The Monitor and I fell in love. Totally a great band/album.
