I don't mind it because it's usually pretty easy to weed out what's bad and what's decent. Just take what you want and discard the rest. Move on to the next thing.

The "pop punk" that gets love here generally isn't real pop punk (so, it isn't punk), and when it does, it's usually orgcore pop punk (since orgcore isn't a sound really). Hardcore that gets jocked here isn't really hardcore either but b9 shit.

there's this other website called punknews.org. they tend to hype a lot of bands that kind of sound the same. i'm bad at describing sounds but it's basically bands like hot water music, dillinger four, lawrence arms, etc.

I suppose if you're talking about the elements of what made Punk a counterculture, I agree, but writing about girls and getting drunk (heartache and hedonism) was ingrained in Punk too (along with that biting sense of social-awareness). I guess the orgcore cats are Punk without ideals.
