Oh god the anticipation is killing me, tell me who it is please!!!!!
Is the band really popular so they're going to be playing large venues? I hope not, i like seeing MxPx in smaller venues and i've been waiting for them to tour again for what seems like ages.

Haha, i'm not bitching at people. It's just dumb to think that it's Blink. That'd be ridiculous to "BS" the world....for like a 4 month hiatus? that's not even a hiatus. That's like Brand New. Haha.
i was just talking to my friend about mxpx and wishing they'd do a headline tour over here on the east coast. its been so long. co-headlining with simple plan at large venues does NOT count. they need a nice dedicated headline tour.

Relient K have been begging MxPx to take them on tour for YEARS. It's a known fact that the RK boys are HUGE fans of MxPx, and MxPx have gone on record as saying that Relient K are someone they'd like to bring out and hang with.
If Relient K were to tour with MxPx, you can guess they'd have that support band spot. Someone HUGE would co-headline with MxPx, and someone who they should have toured with years ago leads everyone to believe the band is older than Relient K.
In other news, MxPx/Relient K is going to happen, but Relient K aren't the "huge band" that is also on this tour.

But you see Mxpx has already toured with Blink 182 and New Found Glory. He said in the post " with a band that they should have toured with years ago", leading us to believe that they have never toured together before.
As far as this thread goes... I was kinda disheartened to have to wait unti the fourth page of replies for someone to actually know that MxPx has already toured with Blink and NFG. They've toured with Blink several times, as Mark and Mike are good friends.
Relient K have been begging MxPx to take them on tour for YEARS. It's a known fact that the RK boys are HUGE fans of MxPx, and MxPx have gone on record as saying that Relient K are someone they'd like to bring out and hang with.
You'd have thought MxPx and RK would have toured together back in MxPx's days on Tooth & Nail, when Relient K only had like The Anatomy Of The Tongue In Cheek released.
i was thinking either desecnedents or bad religion
One would think that, considering that Mike has said on numerous occasions that MxPx would not be here if it was not for The Descendents, you know, being his favorite band and all.

ALK3 is touring with MCR, and rumored RATFE. (confirm?)
And I don't think Relient K is big enough to coheadline with MX...im not that big of a fan of either band, but I think MXPX is bigger and means more to music than Relient K.

For the person who asked if any of Relient K's fans weren't religious ... the answer is a definite yes. Half the people who've recently discovered that band because of constant promotion on MTV, Fuse, pureVOLUME, and MySpace have no idea that they're even a Christian band, probably because they've never been overwhelming about it in their songs and because they've released a certain amount of incredibly secular songs about girls, school dances, and the like.
And if he's a fan of MxPx, he should know that they're a band that has been lumped in the Christian genre before too, considering the fact that they were on Tooth and Nail, a label that doesn't hide its faith really, for awhile.
I hope it is Relient K, MxPx, and The Rocket Summer. That's a show I wouldn't mind seeing.
Hopefully i'm the last person to make a post for this thread. We know the bands so there is no need to guess anymore....case closed!

How is a tour with MxPx and Relient K remotely anything close to being "huge?" Does Relient K even have any fans who aren't Christian?
A "huge tour" would be something like MxPx opening up for Green Day. Or Screeching Weasel. Or y'know...Punk bands that matter.
Yes.
And I'll bet you that 205719857 times more people know Reliant K than Screeching Weasel.
PS- I'm from Hingham. That touches Hanover. Haha.

New Found Glory I'll bet NFG is going to be busy working on another record. They announced that the Back To Basics tour would be their last one before heading into the studio. And MxPx played with NFG back on Civic Tour 2003. It was my first concert :). I decided to get out of the crowd before MxPx came on at Warped in SF, but I did get to hear them and they sounded awesome. I really want to see them again. If I didn't get hit so many times during the Offspring, I probably would've stayed for MxPx.

Blink, Green Day, NFG would be the top 3 guesses. Although it seems some people are sure on Relient K, Rufio, and The Rocket Summer (i think i'm missing a band or two)

Rufio, RK, and MxPx is a good guess. Remember Green Day and Jimmy Eat World are touring this fall also.

maybe no use for a name
or lagwagon?
That would be siiick... lagwagon, nufan, mxpx, nofx, less than jake (circa losing streak/ hello rockview)
That would be the shit
again....the tour is
relient k
mxpx
rufio
with the opener to be either acceptance or rocket summer
Im not a fan of relient k so I cant say anything on their part.. I rather have lagwagon as I said,
If Rufio play Perhaps I suppose and Mxpx plays old stuff ala going the way of the buffalo, I would go...
Sounds like a promising tour none the less

I'm saying Less Than Jake, new record coming out soon, and it just seems like a really really good fit for an awesome show. Plus they have both been around for a while, so that makes sense if they should have toured a long time ago, unless I'm missing something.

Mxpx has toured with Offspring and Blink before. It was back before both Offspring and Blink stopped playing fast punk. God dammit i feel old.

speaking of screeching weasel...did anyone else read in the new issue of alternative press where they were doing the mini-interview with ben weasel and when asked how many reunions they've had and if there is going to be another he replied "3...and probably"?

Also to debunk some other theories, they've toured with Slick Shoes, Less Than Jake, played with Descendents *who might I add wont tour any more cause milo loves being a genetic research scientist*,. They have also played shows with Relient K before, although they were one off shows when Relient K was just getting buzz. Also they played with Yellowcard back before Ryan Key showed up and ruined everything. they have also toured with nofx. i have to go get laid now.. bye

Well, there's no hope in Blink 182 reuniting quite yet, and New Found Glory don't plan on touring for about another 18 months because they're writing a new album so it's neither of them.

Mxpx have been major major fans of Social Distortion all thier lives. thier a big band and still playing... It could be possible it would be them, but i also agree that relient k will probably for sure be on this tour. but yah social d and relient k.

That was a cool heads up from Ben about Screeching Weasel but with Ben you can never take it too seriously. For everyone who is stuck on Blink for some reason or another, did anyone read the piece with Motion City Soundtrack in the latest AP? There was an interesting account of Mark's reaction to the news of an "indefinite hiatus" involving him not having been aware of its occurence!

I'm not a christian and I've been a Relient K fan since they released their debut in 2000. Mmhmm debuted at #13 on the Billboard charts, you don't do that if you only have christians in your fan base. Just ask Switchfoot. Don't be surprised if Relient K is everywhere a few months from now; Capitol is pushing them like crazy.
Also, I posted that bit about MXPX, RK, and TRS because that's what people are saying. Now Rufio is being thrown into the mix, along with a couple other bands. We won't know for sure until it's announced. Jeff (RK's manager) said their fall tour should be confirmed sometime in the next few weeks.
