Attempt at being an asshole, fail.
Whether you like them or not, calling them forgettable is asinine.

Obviously not. Good question.

Are you? They are one of the most influential pop punk bands and just cause you think they're forgettable really doesn't mean they are. All The Small Things is still stuck in my head haha

I'll never understand it. I mean dude ranch was good, and that last s/t thing was a pretty decent copy of what was popular at the time......but other then that, were not talking about a band that's worthy of being remembered in ten years. They weren't inovative, original, or exactly that talented. They played generic pop-punk, cussed alot and ran around in their underwear.....come on people, there are other bands we need to see get back together first.

If they simply were generic pop-punk, then why do all these other bands copy them now?
And what other bands were popular at the time that had their sound... That came before them.

Two days ago I sat around watching the Spider-Man cartoon from the '90s for ten hours and loved every second of it. Nostalgia. Same rules apply.

Dude you not liking the song or the album has nothing to do with what you're saying. They're very clearly not forgettable if everyone on this website continuously asks when they're coming back. They spawned a whole slew of pop punk bands and that is influential like it or not

I totally agree. They weren't that great, they were fun, but nothing crazy cool. So much nostalgia or something. Plus if they reunited it would just be terrible.

Green Day?
I don't think they sound like Green Day. The same genre. But I would have to say different sound.

You are really going to say that Blink 182 aren't influential?
There is no doubt that there are far more talented bands than Blink 182 ever was, but you must have your head up your ass if you don't think they had a major influence in current music.

I guess, there are limits, however. But valid point. Its not uncomon to build things up to unreasonable levels in your mind once they're gone.....

I don't see it as that. I'm well aware that DeLonge can't sing worth shit and if you asked Mark Hoppus to play a bassline with more than six notes in it he'd probably be fucked. I just grew up with that music and learned to love it over the years. So yes, I'd be excited about this.

Exactly. This is the first band that got me to listen to pop punk and I absolutely loved their music when I first started listening. These days I really just enjoy the music for nostalgic purposes but I think most people really like them because they were the first band people really listened to from that genre

Don't get me wrong I still really like Blink and I think their last 3 albums were all gold but I think a large part of why I love them to this day is largely due to nostalgia. TOYPAJ and S/T though were both really great albums. Love both of those to death

reminds you of your youth, fine enough, I too have albums from my past that resonate with a specific time and place in my life....But again its never been those types of claims I've taken issue with, in relation to Blink. Its this influential nonsense, the cult like following, the obsession with a return, as if the Christs of music are somehow regrouping. I mean they were a radio pop-punk.....come on.
I guess I'll have to settle with being an outsider looking in, dumbfounded.

Agreed. Maybe Tom isn't the best guitarist, mark's not the best bassist. (Travis is a pretty insane ass drummer though). But that's what makes them good. They don't need to have insane guitars its just catchy fun stuff, and I think it's great, not just for nostalgic purposes. I never chose music based on the most insane guitars or whatever.

Yea I totally agree. That's the kind of effect I think they had on a lot of people so to say they're not influential is ridiculous. But anyways they had the same effect on me. I wouldn't of listened to the pop punk genre if it wasn't for this band
