so when you're performing, do you bust out any moves, just dance with the music, or sit there and play?

well you should just jam out really maybe move around a little or get on the floor just basically go crazy
I dance like a fucking loonatic..haha well, just feel the music, if it makes you want to jump or whatever, then yeah, why not? If you are feeling it, the crowd will too..or theyll just laugh at you, either works for me, Im used to it.

hahaha i remember the first show i played, i was soo nervous and basically stood there to concentrate on what i was playing, but the crowd liked us. i wish i was in a band that did shows right now cuz id go crazy on stage.

I cant, im the drummer. Was the drummer. no band anymore lol.
Although when i played, i just into the groove of the song....headin boppin etc. normal stuff.then again. i couldnt care less about what i did/did not do on stage.
I'm the lead guitarist so I just bang my head and jump around like crazy. Also, if we have screaming I'm the lead singer so I can't really move around all that much while playing lead guitar at the same time. Which for the record is extremely hard.

you can still kinda do stuff if you're the drummer, but yeah, not nearly to the extent of a singer or guitarist. When I play, I kinda change how I'm playing depending on the song. If it's a slow song, then I usually don't move much, but I guess if it's a fast or really catchy or really loud song or whatever, I kinda exaggerate my motions to be into the song a little more.

I play drums, so i can't really do anything like guitarists/singers can but if i could i would be crazy. I have to learn some stick tricks to make it interesting, but i thrash a bit.

When I perform I just think of my mates former band The Red Carpet Murder. They're the most energetic band i've ever seen in my life. Pure energy.
I guess I imitate them, but only in using heaps of energy.

Although your band doesnt exist any more, it was fucking awesome... I was there. Little Princess is probably still one of my fave songs. (Hi, this is Fran)
I'm the lead singer (most of the time) of my band, and since I don't play any instrument I always worry about being uninteresting to the crowd... Just focus on what the words mean, keep eye contact, jump around if you have to... but whatever you do, dont try too hard... it always ends in a catastrophe...

Just follow the example of Aaron from MeWithoutYou.

ps - I AM the ultimate Spank Mango fan :animateds

Erm hello Mark, How the hell do you know that I've never heard little princess? I don't recall you caring what I thought about much anyway. I have seen them perform, and I've listened to the song loads of times, they had it up on mp3.com a while back. I have no need to prove to you what I listen to and when I listen to it. I wish you wouldn't be so immature about stuff like this.
Well, I'm hardly back-up vocals, seeing I write my own song lyrics and perform them at the front of the stage when we perform them. Read my comment again, I said "most of the time" which, last time I checked, doesnt mean always.
And if you really want "a bit of boobies", go grow some.
But anyways, to continue the thread and not go off the sub like my friend here... stage presence has nothing to do with what you look like (may it be boobie-full or punk-rawk), its just about what the music means to you. It definetly gets better with experience though.

im in an indie pop band and we do alot of stuff in 6/8 so when i find the pocket i just groove and move around a bit and kinda make the audience feel welcome by smiling at specific people when i can

I bust out some crazy little moves. A bit of the old spinning round in circles, jumping up and down and some beautiful dancing

I dance around and stuff, moving across the stage and obviously just act rather energetic... but as far as any synchronized moves or roundhouse kicks or any of that shit, naw.

u have to have great stage presence. when i go to shows even if a band sucks... if they r going crazy i will remember them. you have to put on a good show and the crowd will get into it no matter what. just dont care, let loose and dance.
