I graduated from there. If you have the opportunity and don't want to go out of state, its definitely the best choice by far. Plus, I really think AA is the only place in MI I would actually choose to live.

I just graduated from U of M in April and absolutely loved it; I couldn't imagine having gone anywhere else. Great academics (one of the best public universities in the nation), social scene, good sports teams. Ann Arbor is a great town, and I really can't recommend the school enough.

There are a lot of Indians and a lot of Asians on campus. I'm not implying anything, that's just an observation. It's a top notch school man. Join the party.

Furthermore, lol @ Miami OH at the Ohio Hockey Invitational

I just applied here for transfer and I'm reaaaaaaally hoping I get in, haha. Unfortunately, I just found out that they admit on a "rolling" basis, which sucks for me since I applied in the last month possible..

yeah, the AA is a whore sentiment makes no sense. Are OSU fans implying that AA is in fact a real person? And that she (since it apparently is a female city) spreads her legs for everyone? I'm not sure why someone would apply that nonsensical terminology to a town, but whatever. I lived in Columbus and insults like that are right up Buckeye fans' alleys.

Oh, and concernedparent I replied to your transferring thread, not knowing that were applying here. good luck with finaid, since out-of-state tuition is roughly 35,000.

My friends and I randomly walked around the campus last year on a roadtrip, the kids there didn't really care for my friends' U of M hoodie haha. Pretty cool campus though.

i'm glad we've cleared up the distinction between badgers and buckeyes. regardless, of course it's nonsensical, it has its roots in football chants and witty shirts - what would one expect?

It all started with the Buckeyes, so I just ignored the whole Badger thing, sorry.

What are the kids at the University of Michigan like? Friendly? Cool? Douchebaggy? Nerdy? Some combination of all of those? I'm an out-of-stater so I really have no idea.

Mixture of both. There is so much money at the school its ridiculous. A lot of wealthy NYC jews and the like. Frats are pretty big, and the majority of people in frats/sororities are complete douches. Then again, I worked at the computer store in the Michigan Union and pretty much everyone who worked there was from in-state and really cool. Amidst all the clowns that go to the school, there are a lot of really cool normal kids that go there as well.

Oh, and a LOT of asian nerds.

We had all of our second stringers in, but even so we played like complete shit. Losing to Army pissed me off so much. Let's hope that's out of the way.

Yes yes yes. I'd be there in a heartbeat if I didn't have to take the Praxis on Saturday. :-(

I'd be going there next year if they had a better nursing program/gave out more financial aid. I've lived in Ann Arbor all my life and I love it, there's so much to do and so many different types of people. And it's definitely the only part of MI that I can stand haha

My roommate is in the nursing program and likes it, but she also says its pretty stressful.
Good luck with where ever you are going.
