So my good friend and AP user Cameron just got back from our 8-hour round-trip journey to Dallas...I love my state of Texas, but that's not my favorite city. All that aside, getting to see the last show of these guys was great! Jake (I believe is the lead guitarists name) was hammered, played amazing, and was waaay more than entertaining. It seemed like they had a lot of close friends at the show, but I honestly thought there were going to be more people. We actually got there early, worried about not getting in, but ended up with ample amounts of time to drink beer...mmm beer. We were really enjoying our beer and talking to all the different people so much out on the patio of Club Dada, which turned out to be way more of a bar than a "club," that ended up socializing through the first two bands. Oh and in the 5 minute convorsation I had with Nate he said he just plans on making music for fun, the business aspect and spending so much time in a van took the fun away from it. I then asked if he had heard of the band "The Soldier Thread," and explained that they have a sound similar to Lydia. He said no, but this prompted a good 3 minutes of talking about how georgeous Mindy is haha.
They finished of the show with Mirrors, as Cameron predicted, with all of their friends on stage singing the song out. Twas a beautiful sight and sound.
Oh and This Will Destroy You played a great set and did as thier name promises.
So all and all it was an epic evening, marking the end to an epic band, but I can't thank them enough for the music they did write. Many good memories!
If anyone reading this has any pictures or videos of the show please email me or msg me on here, it would be greatly appreciated!
