the Boxcar album was good for like a week. it was only loved to a huge extent because everyone was sucking Blinks dick in those days. It really isnt that good. Its still got some decent songs. But its nothin that made me wish for a second BCR.

well i think part of why i'm saying it's worth it is that i've already started dealing with and working on accepting that blink is done. i love blink and i love the box car racer cd so i guess hrm. i don't know how to say what i'm thinking.

BCR is great but if i could of chosen a BCR albulm or blink staying together.. then i would of definitly chose them staying together.

I say YES. And I love blink, but BCR was incredible, and new blink album was almost BCR and the new Tom solo project will be awesome and plus44 will be too.
I think blink would have broken up without BCR.

A Boxcar Racer album, might have been worth it, but look at what the finished product was-it was rushed. The lyrics on the album are very weak, and the music is repeatitive, and Tom's voice for a whole entire album gets on my nerves. The End With You is a great song though, but the album just lacks staying power with me.

I do find it extrememly hypocritical on Marks part that he complained when Tom and Travis did their own thing and about how he felt forgotten, when he's doing the same thing to Tom right now with Plus 44.

ehh, I liked the Boxcar Racer album, but I don't think that it would be worth Blink breaking up. I'm not a giant fan of either band, but I like Blink more.

This interview was from kerrang before "Blink 182" came out. So they made a record after mark had said what he thought about BCR and they smoothed all that over. They made a record since that potential rift so that isn't to blame for the hiatus.

Also, the BCR album was amazing and probably one of my favourite albums i own. Every song on it is top notch (except my first punk song).

I read in some magazine, that mark was upset when tom did box car racer cause he felt like he was being left out by his best friend. So i know A lot of blink fans like box car racer. Basically the article said that's what caused the falling out with blink and caused them to go on the hiatus. Now say blink doesnt come back and that is REALLY a BIG reason that they broke up. Is the one box car racer cd worth blink 182 breaking up? Im making a poll. Post .
I love mark...and honestly from what I heard was that his main beef was that tom was constantly trying to impliment box car type music into blink (if you notice, he wrote a shit load of songs on the untitled album and is singing in most of the songs)...travis also didn't like the direction tom was taking blink...so honestly, I think it's a fine reason for a band to break up...when you can't get along with your bandmates cause they suddenly "mature" or whatever...you're not gonna enjoy making music anymore.

and ya, I predicted this about two years ago...ask Sleepygrlgreen for proof.

He doesn't get to do side projects with anyone. I always found that amusing. Tom and Travis did Box Car Racer and then Travis did Transplants, Mark never had a side project.

thanks...also something a lot of people often forget...I'm not 100% sure but I vaguely remember that Mark and Tom both had their first children around the same time...Mark opted to stay home and do nothing but spend time with family...on the other hand, Tom went on tour with BCR...now honestly...I can't help but think that that's greedy and just horrible to do as a father...for such a "mature" person, he seems to skip a lot of things most adults ought to do

But honestly, if there was no Boxcar there wouldn't have been that awesome untitled album...regardless of whether or not Mark liked it it would have been another album like EOTS or TOYPAJ...which wouldn't have been a bad thing...I'm a huge Blink fan...but eventually it would have become redundant and repetitive...I love the Boxcar cd and I love Blink all around...but all of these new side projects coming out are going to be new and refreshing and it will be nice...if Blink makes another record I will buy it and most likely love it...but if they don't and they just do their side projects thats fine.....but no matter what...none of them will ever top Blink182

I love the new cd, but i'd love that cd too. So whatever. I just think it'd be amazing to see another cd like the last one, I can only imagine it being better and even more matured.

I listened to it for the first time in a while today (the untitled one) and I realized I like Mark's songs a lot better...mainly Here's Your Letter, Stockholm Syndrome, and Go....I :love: the cd, but I've always been partial to Mark's songs...perfect example....Shut Up...best song on TOYPAJ

The untitled album was far from awesome. It sucked. Blink had their run and unfortunately they had to call it quits, which was for the better at this point. What Richter said is true about what happened between the band. Box Car only prolonged the inevitable. They just would have broken up sooner.

Too be honest I think they're pretty close is terms of song structure and whatnot the only difference is they switched Mark for a new singer and brought in one other guy....other than that its the same fucking thing...

(side note I'm actually a fan of both either way)

Box Car were alright. Sometimes I like it other times I don't. But it does have some really shitty guitar work. Some verses are just the same chord strummed repeatedly. That is the most uncreative shit I have ever heard.
