Below is an update from Jeff Kummer, the drummer of The Early November (www.theearlynovember.net).

i wanted to give everybody a sort of catch up update to whats been going on and clear up
some questions that you might have. as most of you guys know weve been working on a
triple disc cd at the moment. we have taken a break from the studio since mid may to
clear our heads. trying to take down this whole thing straight on without any time to sit
and think was pretty difficult. we were in there for about 2 and a half months and it was
for the best to take to some time off. so weve been home.. listening to what weve done so
far, fixing what we dont like, coming up with new ideas and getting everything more
organized. ace has been working like a machine latley.. recording new parts and bringing
the story together while writing whats needed for the other records. theres little we
have to scrap from what weve done already. everything weve done serves its purpose. after
almost a year of stressing out were starting to feel a very positive vibe from this.
everything feels like its coming together. we go back to the studio july 25th and were
going to do what we have to do and take this whole thing down. in october we leave for a
full US tour with saves the day, senses fail and say anything. thats really all of our
plans to date right now.

weve been catching alot of crap about making this triple disc. we knew going into this
that people were going to hate on it. but that comes along with what we do. alot of
people think were going to crowd these records with filler. i can assure you that its not
going to happen. no worrys for the the people that already like our band. cause i have no
doubt in my mind your going to love the new stuff. as for the people that think our band
is total shit.. youll probly still hate us but i feel pretty confident your going to like
a good amount of songs.

i think pretty much everyone but ace was nervous going into this. but now its a whole
different story. we truly thank everybody that sticks with this band through all the
bumps that we tend to go through. we can promise you great things.

i can't wait for this cd and that fall tour is going to be sweet. there is an article in the new alt press about the cd and how each one is going to have a theme of some sorts. one is going to be like what they usually do, the second is going to be much slower and the third i guess is going to be misc. ace talked about jazz, and blues and even rap. ahahahaha imagine serg suddenly rapping. oh god. i'm so excited for this and i congrat them on trying to break the limits of the way cd should be by putting out a tripple disc. at the same time i hope it doesn't cost tripple the amount of a normal cd. but maybe they will take tripple as long between cds. ace is so good though.

I don't know how anyone could hate the idea of a triple disk. Its new, and its 3x the T.E.N. I see no bad.


cause with 3 discs....it could get messy, boring. and lame ( not saying that I think it will )

and it seems a little over the top if you ask me.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love TEN. They're one of the few bands who are really close to me, but to be honest, I've not been buying this triple disc stuff ever since I heard it announced.

The Rooms Too Cold was a perfect album, it lasted what 11 songs, which was great because I could just listen to in one in about 45 minutes which was sweet (ever so sweet).

3 discs would be nice, but just too boring. I'd probably never remember any hooks or pick up on as many lyrics which TEN are renowned for. In my opinion they will just burn out after this.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to hearing new TEN stuff, gonna be really great!

the idea i got from it was that it was a triple disc as in.... all in the same package... so if you're buying one you're buying all three... sort of like a pink floyd The Wall type of thing... or no?

if they wanna be creative and make a triple disc then thats their desicion, but i think that is bad marketing and a strong 12-14 song cd would benefit them more....

they want to do it because everyone says they cant, i'm pretty sure that they dont care that they could get huge and make more money with 3 seperate records. also, this triple disc can allow them to get rid of all the songs that are a lot different from their current style so they wont put out a record that would alienate their original fans, or at least people will be prepared.

the original press release said that it was going to be one rock, one folkish, and one was a soundtrack/story type deal complete with dialogue and everything. and this statement backs it up, as he says ace was pulling the story together. i definitely don't think there is going to just be an album with just miscellaneous tracks, they had a clear theme for each of them.
