I'm not sure if this was posted yet or not, but in case you missed it, here is the tracklisting for The Junior Varsity (http://www.thejuniorvarsity.com)'s new album, Wide Eyed, which will see a release on July 12th. This album is seriously great and such a step up from their previous work. I highly recommend it.

03. Mad For Medusa
04. I‘m Home, Hooray!

are there any songs similar to 'don't forget to set the house on fire...' on this? I LOVE that song.

agreed, it is a major step up for them. on the downside, the second half of this album seems to lag. the only real highlight for me is "What It Meant To Be Clean"....for these guys next album, i think they'll really blow us all the fuck away.

this cd is absolutely wonderful. i think it is definitely a step up from the great compromise, and that's saying something. the songs are more mellow, but the musicianship is at a new level. this is probably my release of the year. i can't wait to get it. and if you can, make it out to two great TJV shows this weekend.

heres an idea. use the handy dandy news search function to see if its been posted already.
i've heard this CD it sucks. its deriviative BS and I gaurantee they cant play it live because they cant even play their old songs well live to start with. God has been trying to tell this band to give up for like a year now.
They should listen.
Or maybe there just really isnt a god.
I mean SHIT. Falloutboy made it to #1 on TRL. If thats not proof that there is no God then I dont know what would be. Unless its proof that someone sold their soul to the devil...
I'll have to ponder that one for a while.

wow ! way to be a jerk for no reason. Maybe you should listen to the CD again a realize it doesn't suck. And Maybe you should go see them play live too and realize.. they still do not suck.
You say God has been telling this band to give up and all the sudden maybe there isn't a God.
Why don't you go do something for a living and stop bashing on people who work hard, and are passionate about there music.
Basically stop being such a turd. Turd.

they can't play the cd live huh? wow, they fooled me when i saw them a month ago and they played nearly every song off the cd and fucking nailed it. "its deriviative BS"...well first of all, the junior varsity is one of few bands around that are doing something halfway original and progressive. i guess having american football as an influence just puts a band in the shitter right from the beginning. (i hope the sarcasm translates) i guess sitting on your ass in front of this computer gives you the right to completely shit on some of the hardest working guys i know.

Or, here's an idea:
Grow up.
Don't listen to them, don't go to their shows, don't come and respond to threads about them on the site. Plain and simple. If they irk you that much, then don't do any of those things.
Have you listened to the CD in its entirety? No, you probably haven't, since very few have. But I have, and it really is incredible and lives up to the hype.
Once it drops they'll have a newfound group of fans, which means your opinion will mean nothing. Actually, your opinion probably means nothing to them right now....

brah, seriously, you sit there and harass the fans acting like an all knowing god. What have you done to make your opinion matter? sit on a computer and wait for a post about another band you dont like? This band has worked incredibly hard to get where they are and despite huge setbacks are still at it, and are some incredibly nice people who dont dwell on the setbacks. Am i for opinions, of course. But do it intelligently. They have more balls simply for being a band after all they've been thru than you could ever have hiding behind a computer. I truly hope someone shits in your pillowcase

I love the few kids that say theyve heard the album and it sucks.......you likely hadnt heard the album........and your most likely a moron. Just because your shitty band cant get label attention and you think you write original music (maybe your not even in a band, which gives you even less room to talk) doesnt make you the fucking siskel and ebert of rock music! Fall out boy and selling their soul to the devil, comeon.............FOB are where they are because of countless days on the road playing to passionate fans and returning the passion in their performances.........your just a douche bag infront of a computer with nothing productive to say or do with your life! Its one thing to not be a fan and not dig the music.......but do us all a favor and dont grace us with your know-it-all bullshit.
