You know those two minute long intros indie bands do from time to time? I'm looking for bands who do that but completely instrumental, 100% of the time. Poorly worded post will hopefully yield some great results.
... I don't listen to indie much, so I'm not really sure what exactly you mean, but the Red Sparowes are an instrumental band that I really enjoy.

And So I Watched You From Afar. I just made a thread about them actually. Well worth checking them out.
Seriously. + 1 for the American Football reference. They've got it down so tight that you barely even notice the vocals anyway. (Well you do.)
Check out Russian Circles, This Town Needs Guns, Snowing, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Ratatat (who knows, maybe you dig that sort of thing,) Sigur Ros, world's end girlfriend...
That should be a good list. Some vocals, some not, most of which retain that sort of math-y vibe.

I'm surprised at how little attention Holy Fuck is getting in this thread. I originally got their EP because of the band name, but I really ending up liking them. Some of the best instrumental indie post-rock.
