I'm getting a cavity filled

Yes, in about eight hours, I'm getting a cavity filled. A cavity in my tooth, that is. I don't really prefer going to the dentist, but I'd rather be getting a cavity filled than having a teeth cleaning.

Things to look forward to:

1.) Those amusing posters on the ceiling you get to look at when you lay down
2.) Possibly getting one of the hot hygienists as the dentist's assistant that day
3.) The odd feeling of my mouth being numb, which always holds my interest for awhile

And before anyone else says it: I, too, wonder why they insist on asking questions at the exact moments they have their fingers/tools in your mouth.

I just close my eyes during long dental procedures (I've had many) and usually just pass out. Or if its something quick I get to watch TV on the ceiling.

I got mine pulled and it wasn't bad at all. I was fine the evening of the day of surgery. I was a little sore for a day or two but that's it.

i got 1 wisdom tooth pulled last spring, i didn't even get topical anesthetic (sort of by choice, as i hate the feeling of my lips blowing up like balloons) and i was fine a few hours later, not much pain or anything. That's what I get for having an inhuman threshold for pain.

I would have appreciated some Vicodin just for the hell of it though.

I hate the dentist period. I've had more cavities filled than I can count, even though I have straight, seemingly nice teeth. But we have television screens on the ceilings instead of posters :-p
